We are about to release 1.74.00. Our patches are designed to update any prior version. When I install our program on a machine that had 1.65.00 or earlier on it comes up with the following message:- Internal Error 2709. DLL_SageDataObjects100 This is a component to release a new DLL, but was added back in version 1.70.02. So the fact its only happening with users upgrading from 1.65.00 or internal error 2709 earlier is understandable, but I don't know why. If I look at the patch log created, the associated DLL was correctly added to the patch. I use the Patch Design view, using Developer 8 SP2. I don't use the legacy version or the QuickPatch ever. Any clue as to how I can fix this problem?? Thanks. Please note patch can be applied only if you update any existing file or add new file to any existing component. It cannot create a new component. Since, the DLL is assigned to a separate component. I suggest you delete the component and add the DLL to any existing component. Build a patch again and please let me know if you still face problem. Alternatively, if you do not want to remove this component then use Minor Upgrade. It will install the new component. Service Pack, but when attempting to install it, I received an internal error code 2709.PFIT12XX.HLP.REG - whereupon the installer exited. This happened right at the start of the installation process. I had turned off Norton System Works, and wasn't running anything else. I am using Win XP Home, the WP Office 12 version is 12.0.0.231 (initial release). I'll try and download it again on another computer to see if that makes any difference. Re Silient08-03-2004, 05:47 AMOriginally posted by dbowman: ..but when attempting to install it, I received an internal error code 2709.PFIT12XX.HLP.REG...Another user reported the same error in the Corel newsgroup (and he sent me his install log)... still working on it... will report what else I found. Re Silient08-03-2004, 06:34 AMI'm trying to reproduce the error (no success thus far). I would suggest you start with doing a Repair of your current install of WPO12: 1-Go to the Control Panel, Add\Remove Programs 2-Select Wordperfect office 12 3-Click Change, click Next 4-Select Repair, click Next 5-Select "Reinstall entire program", click Begin Then once this is finished, then try applying SP1. BTW: I opened up the WPO12 MSI install file (can't open an MSP sorry) Usually a 2709 is an error in either component (missing or not matched) In this case, the component is a series of reg keys... (2 keys their names are registry511 and registry512) the component itself is PFIT12XX.HLP.REG The first reg key weent looking to update HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\COREL\PFLegacy\12 And that entry point is for the help files... so on.... HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\COREL\PFLegacy\12\Location of Help files etc. I'm weary to suggest editing or investigating the registry just yet. Run a FULL repair (files and shortcuts dbowman08-03-2004, 11:53 AMThank you for the info. I'll try your suggestions as soon as I can get back to my computer (I'm replying from a different one). As a matter of interest, the exact same download file installed perfectly on a Win 98SE system. Regards, Derek Bowman dbowman08-04-2004, 12:01 AMI performed the "Reinstall Entire Program" as per your suggestion, and then rebooted. (I haven't done this before, and was surprised that the process ran without ever asking me to insert the CD-Rom. I imagine that whatever parame
