I use NIS 2012 with Outlook 2007 and my ISP is Telus, a telephone company. I receive no error messages from Outlook nor the ISP and the error message only comes from NIS. l just got off the telephone with Telus as to support and they state that this is a Norton issue. To see if Norton is the issue disable Outgoing Email Scanning (Settings > Network > Message Protection > Email Antivirus Scan Configure [+]).
