Hi,This is a known problem with the installation of Adobe Acrobat 8 over previous versions, and Adobe is supposedly working on the issue. What you need to do is to completely remove any older versions of Acrobat before you can install the new one. First go to Add and Remove Programs and look for any Adobe version and remove it. Then reboot your computer and acrobat internal error make sure there are no versions of adobe acrobat in the Add/Remove list or in your Programs Folder. Now you can try to reinstall version 8. If that still does not work, you will need to run a microsoft installation cleanup utility to remove any traces of unsuccessful installations. If this is the case, let me know and I will locate the download site for that utility.Hope this helps. John D, BS Degree in Engineering. Scroll down to the middle of the page and read starting from "Note: if you are not able to remove...."Although these instructions were written for fixing error 2711 for Acrobat 7, but they should apply for 8 as well with regard to using the Cleanup utility.http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=322388&sliceId=1Hope this helps.
