Installation problem: "Internal error 2343" ... rated by 0 users This post has 3 Replies | 1 Follower uncletr Since 6/9/2004 Posts 553 Reputation 9,880 Reply Uncle Tr (uncletr) Posted: 10/17/2004 10:44 AM rated by 0 users I created my Visual Basic application on a WinXP platform. I then created a MSI file using the Wise Installer and tried to install it on another WinXP machine but I get the following error during the "Creating Folders..." section of the install:"Internal Error 2343"As a result, the install fails. Any ideas what causes this and how to fix it? ketchup belongs on eggs! | Post Points: 20 wonkotsane Telford, England Since 7/6/2002 Posts 5,069 Reputation 54,820 Reply wonkotsane (wonkotsane) replied on 10/17/2004 11:27 AM rated http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/msi-error-2343 by 0 users Try this - http://www.appdeploy.com/messageboards/printable.asp?m=631&mpage=.That error means specified path is empty. Well I did have a couple of http://vbcity.com/forums/t/80375.aspx empty directories but these were required. I placed simple "readme.txt" files in there just to make sure the directory was not empty. Now all of my directories have either a directory inside of them or a file inside of them. However, the "Internal Error 2343" still occurs so I have no idea what is going on.Should all directories have a "file" in them or can they have only a "subdirectory" in them instead?Anyway, the link which you referenced indicates one should try to repackage with a clean OS ..... this is not possible. I can not wipe my harddrive clean and reinstall my OS to solve this problem. Also, I am not dealing with Lotus Notes at all. I never had Lotus Notes installed ever.I am using "Wise for Windows Installer 5.2 - Enterprise Edition" to create an install package for my VB6.0 application. Also, when I perform a "Test" of my install package in Wise, I receive a "successful" indication, so it seems weird that the install gives an error.Any other ideas of what to try next? ketchup belongs on eggs! | Post Points: 5 uncletr Since 6/9/2004 Posts 553 Reputation 9,880 Reply Uncle Tr (uncletr) replied on 10/18/2004 7:22 PM rated by 0 users After I reinstalled Visual Studio 6.0 and reinstalled my Wise Installer application then everything worked. The install package can now be built and does not complain when installation occurs.Hooray! ketchup belongs on eggs! | Post Po

When I look in client.mis.log I can see this error message:Property(S): SmsDetectColocationDowngrade_ErrorMessage = A newer version of the SMS Management Point is installed. Cannot continue installing this version of the client.I'm trying to install the sccm client on a PC, no a server. So why does it give me the above error message.Thanks/Claus Thursday, August 06, 2009 10:16 AM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote I tried to run ccmsetup /unistall and then started th installation again.
