The motherboard is an Asus P4S8X with an onboard Promise Raid Controller 376. I never had any trouble using Norton Ghost with this motherboard before an internal inconsistency when having a SATA drive connected to the PDC. But now when I have a drive connected to this controller I get the above error. Booting without the SATA drive and just the IDE drives work. The error message says exactly "An internal inconsistency has been detected" If this problem persists contact Symantec Technical Support at http://service.symantec.com" and the ttle of the message is "Internal Error 36000". Can anyone tell me how to save the error file to a usb flash drive or onto one of the IDE drives that are also connected to the motherboard ? I cannot save it to the A: floppy drive for some reason. Solved Symantec Ghost Error 36000 Internal Inconsistency detected Posted on 2009-09-03 Hardware 1 Verified Solution 2 Comments 7,828 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-07 I'm trying to load an image onto a Seagate 1gb HD, the image is very small, we've used it many times before. We're using Symantec 8.0 for PCDOS. I've run a killdisk utility on the drive to completely wipe it. It begins to install the image and will stop at different points each time giving the same error: "Internal Error 36000 An internal inconsistency has been detected" I've tried running the Ghost.exe with the -ws- -wd- flags, this has not resolved the issue. Anyone have any other ideas? This is a very old machine, so please dont suggest using a newer version of ghost. 0 Question by:Sappbrosts Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 76 Active today Best Solution byAlan Hardisty Not sure if this is relevant to your version of Ghost - but worth a read. http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ghost.nsf/f622fe1b00b168bc882570dc007a01d2/06df7b028e074efa08256831007a9b1f?OpenDocument Go to Solution 2 Comments LVL 7 Overall: Level 7 Hardware 1 Message Author Comment by:Sappbrosts2009-09-03 oh, and...the image file is on an IDE hard drive, we're loading the image onto a SCSI hard drive 0 LVL 76 Overall: Level 76 Hardware 3 Message Active today Accepted Solution by:Alan Hardisty2009-09-03 Not sure if this is relevant to your version of Ghost - but worth a read. http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ghost.nsf/f622fe1b00b168bc882570dc007a01d2/06df7b028e074efa08256831007a9b1f?OpenDocument 0 Write Comment First Name Please enter a first name Last Name Please enter a last name Email We will never share this with anyone.
