I get a standard 500 error "500 Internal Server Error" page on every site. I have tested using IE and there are no problems loading pages. I have tried creating a new profile, uninstalling and reinstalling, upgrading to Firefox 4 (was previously using 3) and uninstalling and wiping all profile information, but nothing has worked. The problem started when a video player made in Flash crashed (channel4.com). Windows was completely unresponsive and I could not exit full screen mode of the video. I tried pressing esc, ctrl + esc, ctrl + alt + delete etc but nothing worked and I had to hold the power button on the tower for 4 seconds to turn it off. When I started up again I was presented with the screen when Windows fails to load normally and I selected the "Start Windows normally", which booted up Windows successfully. Since then I have been unabe to view any web pages in Fireox, I always get the 500 Internal Server Error page. This is an odd one and I am out of ideas, any help would be much appreciated as I really want to get back to using Firefox! Thanks I cannot currently load any web pages when using Firefox. Should have known to come here first! New Dell laptop with XP. Using Firefox as browser. Have a firewall, AVG, Spybot, Registry Mechanic, Ad_Aware & something else that I forgot. ANYHOW - I can get to a primary site .. but if there is a link there that is to a SECURED site .. I get the above message: ERROR CODE 500 Message: Internal Server Error. I discovered that this ONLY happens when I go to an "https" location. In Tools, Security, I have all (3) boxes checked. I can get to https with IE. But not Firefox. My phone bill is on the net, I bank via the net ..... I LOVE firefox ..... but I need to pay bills too. OH - I did a clean download from Mozilla when I got the computer about 3 weeks ago. But this error only started popping up about 4-5 days ago. AND I've also run Firefox in Safe mode and still get the error. ANY ideas from you will be appreciated. Thanks. Such things happen sometimes when standards are not followed. They are quite rare. I went to Mozilla's site and clicked on the chat link (Chatzilla or something like that) .... again, that's a secure site evidently and I got the error message. Anytime I have to complete a form, sign up for something, ANY SECURE site (HTTPS) I get the message. I'm frustrated every time. Any other ideas?
