Error 500 in Magento Mar 08, 2009 Tomislav Bilic Debugging, Magento 34 Comments Many of us who started experimenting with this interface and tried magento internal server error after backup to place various values for Base URL, came to a dead end magento internal server error after upgrade where Magento breaks. Usually, we get Internal Server Error 500 with each page load. The problem lies in oscommerce internal server error the fact that we can no longer open the Magento administration to correct the error. What needs to be done in such a scenario? One of our clients wrote me a
Joomla Internal Server Error
message today: I have put www.mydomain.com in a bad spot. I changed the base URL to {{base_URL}} and now im getting a 500 server error on both the front end and the admin panel. I have looked through the database and cannot find the right field to change this value back. Can you point me in the right direction? The client went zen cart internal server error to System> Configuration> Web> Unsecure and placed an invalid value for Base URL field. Beware of this field. Unfortunately, Magento just updates it without any pre-warnings, but change of this specific value can cause Magento to crash. Usually, we get an error that looks like this: Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@mysite.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. The client was on right path to find a solution. We need to open MySQL (usually via php MyAdmin) and find core_config_data table. Once there, manually update 2 rows: config_id:3 web/unsecure/base_url => http://www.mydomain.com/ config_id:4 web/secure/base_url => https://www.mydomain.com/ Everything should work now. Hope this will help someone. If you need any help, we can do a Magento Website Assessment for your site. Enjoyed t

This http://inchoo.net/magento/internal-server-error-500-in-magento/ happens after my application verify for user user login and redirect user to the authentication page: https://www.facebook.com/dialog/oauth?client_id=XXX&redirect_uri=http%3A%2F%2Fexample.com%2Fmyappname%2F&state=YYYYYY&scope=offline_access%2Cpublish_actions But instead of showing the authorization page, Facebook shows an error page with An error occurred. Altough I properly changed the request_uri parameter and updated my app settings with the new domain, the error kept showing up. Then I realized that the ID and the SECRET ID of my Facebook APP had automatically changed with no warning!! The whole thing started working again using the new ID. share|improve this answer answered Nov 16 '11 at 15:58 community wiki albert Absolutely! The APP_ID and the API_KEY used to be different, but now they are identical! Thank you! –Erel Segal-Halevi Dec 31 '11 at 23:31 add a comment| up vote 64 down vote I have had the same problem as you. Please try again later." Has anyone https://www.godaddy.com/help/what-do-i-do-when-i-receive-an-internal-server-error-1655 else come across this issue with 1and1 hosting? If so I tried to read some other forums and say that some ppl deleted their .htaccess file. Would this help? If so could it cause any internal server problems. Any help or suggestion would be great! If you are using 1and1 (Linux package), it will use PHP 4 by default. Adding the line above to your .htaccess file will tell Apache to use PHP 5. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Apache/1.3.33 Server at mydomain.com Port 80 Cause This error can be caused by a variety of issues but is most likely caused by a corrupt .htaccess file. Check to see if there is an .htaccess file in the directory where the error is being generated or any directory above in the tree. If so, temporarily rename the .htaccess file and refresh the page. If the error does not reappear, the .htaccess file is the issue. Repair the file or leave it disabled. If you encounter further issues with the renamed .htaccess file, revert its name, and try restoring it from a backup. Most of the time .htaccess issues are caused by trying to overwrite PHP settings, being uploaded in binary format or permissions issues. Resolution Be sure to upload .htaccess files in ASCII mode Set the permissions to 644, which makes it usable by the server, but prevents it from being read from a browser. If you are trying to make changes to PHP settings, be sure to make changes to your PHP initialization file. For more information see: What filename does my PHP initialization file need to use? Working
