What causes this? vba ms-access access-vba ms-access-2010 share|improve this question asked Feb 25 '14 at 8:45 BFWebAdmin 2,11863166 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active http://stackoverflow.com/questions/22008829/run-time-error-3001-invalid-argument-when-creating-a-table-in-access-vba oldest votes up vote 1 down vote accepted The name of the table you're trying to create (in the above example expressed as strTableName) is not valid - it's probably either null or too long. The names of Access 2010 tables can be no longer than 64 characters. If strTableName is not null and has fewer than 64 characters, the above code will work perfectly. share|improve this answer edited Feb 26 '14 at 14:57 answered Feb 25 '14 at 8:45 BFWebAdmin 2,11863166 1 Or strTableName could be Null –4dmonster Feb 25 '14 at 9:52 @4dmonster - Yes, good point - in short, anything that creates an invalid table name would generate this error. –BFWebAdmin Feb 25 '14 at 10:08 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the privacy policy and terms of service. Posts 55 Are you importing them into an existing table? Have you exported them from your accounting program? Are you creating a linked table to the accounting system? Here is why I am asking. If you are importing them into an existing table then the error is coming from unlike data types. You are trying to insert an incorrect data type. Like trying to enter the letter z instead of a 1. Tell me the database type that you are importing.
