Crystal Reports An Invalid Argument Was Encountered Saving
Status box: "Error in File ~tmpe10810690ed090.rpt: Invalid argument for database." One possible cause of this is the file CRConfig.xml may be corrupted and even looking at the file using notepad should be ok. However this file is very sensitive and if having this problem, try to copy from a good machine where its working fine (make sure that paths are the same for the libraries pointed by invalid argument for database syspro this file before). As reference access thislink herefrom the Sap Community Network docs portal thatexplains JDBC connection of Crystal Reports XI to a MS SQL Server database, but the objective here is only as reference that shows how this file is sensitive to mistakes. The directory associated to IORFileLocation (which is generally @ C:\Windows\temp ) must be for some reason readOnly. Remove read only... It will get resolved. 0 Message Author Comment by:now20102012-05-17 1) When are you getting the errors? i get the first error when i select the report, open it, then choose the start and end dates for which i want the report to run, then it gives me the first error. when i click
Dec 2007 Location: United States Online Status: Offline Posts: 19 Topic: Invalid Argument ProvidedPosted: 21 Feb 2008 at 6:48am Hello. This question may be too general to answer, but if someone could offer any guess or suggestion, it http://www.crystalreportsbook.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2399 would be appreciated. I have a report that was working fine, that is http://www.forumtopics.com/busobj/viewtopic.php?p=789540 suddenly no longer running, giving me an error message that states "Invalid Argument Provided." I get no follow-up message to tell me what the Invalid Argument is, so I don't have any real way of researching what might've changed that is making the report stop running. It reads records for a while, and then just halts invalid argument and the message pops up. Does anyone have any clue what might be wrong? The report has parameters, and what's really strange is that if I use a from and thru date of 02/01/08 thru the current day, it'll run. But then I'll refresh and use a from date of 01/01/08 thru the current day, and I get this message. I thought maybe I was dividing something by zero invalid argument for or that there may be some other calculation giving it grief in the report, but I'm not doing any sort of calculations like this in this report. I realize "Invalid Argument Provided" is pretty generic, but unfortunately it's all I have to go on, and any guess as to what I might look into would be appreciated! Thanks, Mike IP Logged BrianBischof Admin Group Joined: 09 Nov 2006 Online Status: Offline Posts: 2460 Posted: 21 Feb 2008 at 5:27pm I'm guessing that the database has some type of invalid data prior to 2/1/08. I would try more date ranges and make them smaller and smaller ranges to see if you can find a specific day that causes the problem. Then look in the database to see if you see anything unusual on that day. Please support the forum! It runs fine when in Crystal but when I schedule it in Enterprise, I get the following error: ~tmp1d64675fbf04280.rpt: Invalid argument for database. My database connections match two other reports that run fine when scheduled. Any suggestions?
