Steps to reproduce: 1) Start gnome-disks 2) Select a Harddisk and unmount all partitions so the disk is not in use 3) Select "more actions..." button and then the point "Benchmark volume..." 4) Run "start benchmark..." and use the default settings and press the new button "start benchmarking" Now gnome-disk-utility I get: Error seeking to offset 10002022400 (g-io-error-quark, 0) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.04 Package: gnome-disk-utility 3.6.1-1ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.7.0-2.8-generic 3.7.0-rc5 Uname: Linux 3.7.0-2-generic i686 ApportVersion: 2.6.2-0ubuntu5 Architecture: i386 Date: Tue Nov 20 09:29:43 2012 InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-06-16 (156 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release i386 (20120423.2) MarkForUpload: True SourcePackage: gnome-disk-utility UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to raring on 2012-11-12 (7 days ago) Tags: patch trusty apport-bug i386 raring running-unity Edit Tag help Thomas Bechtold (toabctl) wrote on 2012-11-20: #1 Dependencies.txt Edit (6.0 KiB, text/plain; charset="utf-8") ProcEnviron.txt Edit (313 bytes, text/plain; charset="utf-8") Launchpad Janitor (janitor) wrote on 2012-11-29: #2 Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users. I'm currently running 12.04 on all production systems due to these problems which if http://askubuntu.com/questions/471579/can-udisks-be-removed-from-14-04-and-replaced-with-the-functionality-of-disk-uti I'm not mistaken began with 12.10 and have been present ever since. When I try to use Benchmarking from within disks on an unmounted partition on sda, I get the following error: Error seeking to offset 2560872448 (g-io-error-quark, 13) Supporting data (too long to include here): http://pastebin.com/7YmaEmtJ disk-utility udisks share|improve this question edited Jun 4 '14 at 11:59 asked May 24 '14 at 17:18 Elder Geek 11.4k52358 2 Well it should run ok in 14.04, it uses udisks instead of udisks2 & the other deps are also still available. Best to rebuild on 14.04 as an upgrade. So rather than beat around the bush packages & adjusted source here. I have no intention to maintain or fix any isses so maybe try, if ok dl the source so you can build yourself if need be. It opens a little small, you'll need to resize or max. As far as usb creator, the 14.04 version is fine, just format the flash drive first to fat32, then open usb creator. https://launchpad.net/~mc3man/+archive/trusty-tests –doug May 27 '14 at 0:37 1 @doug Flawless. I pulled the 3.10.0-1ubuntu3.really.3.0.2-2ubuntu8 package from your PPA. Write this up as an answer! You have

Any suggestions/help would be appreciated. -tl PSI invalid argument (g-io-error-quark, have done an update to the distribution just to make sure it wasn't a known/fixed problem.
