LadyTaz Member Joined: Mar 25, 2004 Messages: 56 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 16 I am using TMPGEnc 3.0 Express to change an avi into an mpeg 2. I have used it before with no problem, but now I am receiving the following message: "Invalid sample format (error code: 0x80048002" This happens at about 50% through the process. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be? I would appreciate any help you could give me. Thank you. I guess u cud try decompressing like so... 1. Open the AVI in VirtualDUB. 2. Click Video - Direct Stream Copy 3. Click Audio - Full Processing Mode. 4. Click Audio - Compression. Select No Compression (PCM) and click OK. 5. Click File - Save as AVI. Now there would be other optiosn to like trying to disable the code thats used for the rendering. If you have FFDShow installedm u could do that by go9ng to the Audio Filter Config and disabling the FFDShow MP3 codec. hope that helps!! NOTE: after u save a new avi with virtualdub it;ll be much klarger, dont delete the original just in case this doesnt work. 2005. John Navas Guest The 'Invalid sample format 0x80048002' error in TMPGEnc XPress looks to be caused by an audio codec problem when decoding a video+audio (e.g., .AVI) input file. I've seen this problem happen with MP3 audio in an AVI file when ffdshow

The cause is a wrong AudioType code in the MP4 container. The correct should be invalid sample format 64, but some encoders put this code as 103. To change this I use mp4UI (http://mp4ui.sourceforge.net/). The steps are:1. open mp4ui2. Go to the options tab3. Disable Add hint tracks, make ISMA compliant, optimize on close and enable Advanced functions/information4. go to the general tab and open your mp4 file5. right click on the audio track(s) and choose set properties in the advance submenu6. in the preset list choose AudioType, change the value to 64 and click OK7. Click on close and try to open your file with quicktime. It should work. It has worked for me with about a hundred files...Good Luck!
