I recieved a second hand iPhone 3G today, and it seemed to be working fine for a few hours. I got a text from my network giving me a link to download a profile for browser settings, which I downloaded. Maybe a coincidence, but after I did this my network had no signal, wifi wouldn't connect etc. I uninstalled the profile, and my phone came up with a message saying a restore was needed, and proceeded to go to the black and white apple logo screen. Steps I have taken so far with this issue are:1. Hard reset - the phone just returned to the black and white apple logo screen and didn't boot up.2. Connecting to iTunes to do a restore - the phone took a while to be recognised, and then iTunes had an error message saying it needed to be restored. I tried to restore it and got another message saying to device could not be found.3. Putting into recovery mode and doing a restore - this time iTunes did find the phone, and allow me to restore, however at the end of the process I got an error with code (23). I've ran out of things to try now, any ideas? What is this error 23?My phone is now on a loop, it sits on the black and white apple logo screen for ten seconds or so, then swaps to the "emergency call only" screen with connect to iTunes too. iPhone 3G, iOS 4.2 Posted on Jun 8, 2012 8:34 AM I have this question too Close Q: iPhone requires restore, error 23? Try Apple Steps as Tim recommended. If still problem, some iPhones with Error 23 have been fixed by New Battery, or replacement of Charging Port Assembly. Try Apple Steps first. It showed a low battery symbol (which I did buy and instal a new battery). I then tried to update it through iTunes, and now I get the error 23 and it will not do anything show the iTunes restore screen. My question is: how is the best way to get it back to being a functional phone? What software is best and easiest to use. Factory or jailbroken, doesnt matter to me. I just want this phone to work. :o( location: imore.com - date: September 13, 2012 read more Dropped iPhone 3G, now got white screen Hi, I got an iPhone that was https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4012266?tstart=0 accidentally dropped. Since then, the screen is white with some vertical semi invisible lines. I know the touch works as it makes the "Slide to open" sound and I'm able to turn it off. 1. I made soft reset and restore via iTunes, no avail. 2. I opened the iPhone, checked the flat cable and 2 connectors, once reconnected goes back to same white screen. 1. How can I make sure that I properly reconnected the flat cable? 2. Is there anything else that I can do to repair http://www.iphonepassion.com/page/iphone-3g-error-23-white-screen.html it? 3. If I must replace the screen, which screen do I need to purchase off eBay? So i assumed it was dead/dying. Well when the power comes back on in the house, i go to charge the phone on my mac, but nothing hppens. So i unplug the phone, do a hard reset...still nothing. So now im thinking maybe i just need to restore it. I put it into a pwned dfu using redsn0w, and click restore and i get error 1601. After multiple tries and pwned dfu's and errors 1601 and 1602, along with the phone not shutting on at all, i read that you can easily hold the power and hoe button for 12 seconds, release the home button, and keep holding the power button and eventually the apple logo will come on. Brick or no? Hello iphone 3g everyone, firstly id like to say this place is awesome and amazing, a few months ago i broke the glass on my 3G, i went all out and bought the LCD kit and it worked fantastic, but alas, there's always problems. What happened: A few nights ago me and the wife were leaving the house for dinner, i had my hoodie on, had the iPhone in the front left iphone 3g error pocket (big mistake) as im leaning down to get into the car, it slides out ever so gracefully, hitting the car door and falling to the ground. I yell crap, and pick it up, press the hold button, comes on, no scratches nothing, it survived another fall. so i thought. This morning, when i was waking up for work, firstly, i have a powerpad, so my iPhone has the powerpad case, i reach over and pick it up, 100% charge, i shove it in my pocket and head to work. I pull it out to see how late i am for work, and nothing, it doesn't turn on, im pressing the hold button, the home button, every combo i can think of, its really making me mad. then it dawns on me, its probably dead (for what ever reason), i hook it up to my car charger, and the silver apple appears, i watch the road, few minutes later i look down, screen is off, so i assume it booted up. I press the home button, nothing. I press the hold button, it acts like its powering up again. Well, this goes on about 3 times. so i finally decide to watch it (i
