Instances of https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Reference/Global_Objects/Error Error objects are thrown when runtime errors occur. The Error object can also be used as a base object for user-defined exceptions. See below for standard built-in error types. Syntax new Error([message[, fileName[, lineNumber]]]) Parameters message Optional. Human-readable description of the error. fileName Optional. The value for the fileName property on the created Error object. Defaults to the name of the file containing the code that called the Error() constructor. lineNumber Optional. The value for the lineNumber property on the created Error object. Defaults to the line number containing the Error() constructor invocation. Description Runtime errors result in new Error objects being created and thrown. This page documents the use of the Error object itself and its use as a constructor function. For a list of properties and methods inherited by Error instances, see Error.prototype. Error types Besides the generic Error constructor, there are six other core error constructors in JavaScript. For client-side exceptions, see Exception Handling Statements. EvalError Creates an instance representing an error that occurs regarding the global function eval(). InternalError Creates an instance representing an error that occurs when an internal error in the JavaScript engine is thro
Chen - MSFTMay 5, 200832 0 0 0 Alun Williams pointed out that if you pass invalid parameters to DeferWindowPos, it does not destroy the HDWP. Well, yeah, because if you pass invalid parameters, then all bets are off. Different functions perform different degrees of parameter validation; the degree to https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/oldnewthing/20080505-00/?p=22463 which this is done is typically guided by security concerns. Information that crosses security boundaries https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/94881-why-do-i-get-the-error-object-parameter-contains-an-invalid-handle-when-running-a-model-which-cont must be fully-validated, whereas a call to an in-process function has very little in the way of security obligations with respect to invalid parameters, since a bad caller could just mess with the in-process function directly; no need to try to "trick" it with invalid parameters. In practice, most functions that perform parameter validation go something like this: SomeFunction(...) { if (any parameter is javascript error invalid) { signal invalid parameter error in an appropriate manner } else { actually do something } } (In some cases, the validation code is not even written by a human being. Instead, there's a script that parses the header files and autogenerates the validation code.) If there is an invalid parameter, the entire operation is typically abandoned. Because, after all, how can you expect a function even to get off the ground when it doesn't have all its parameters? error getting handle I mean, how can the DeferWindowPos destroy the HDWP when it fails to validate its parameters, if the invalid parameter might be the HDWP? Regardless of the degree to which parameter validation occurs, if you pass invalid parameters, then (generally speaking) there are no guarantees. Passing valid parameters is part of the basic ground rules for programming. If you break your end of the deal, then the function is under no obligation to hold up its end. It would be a fairly simple matter in this case to step into the DeferWindowPos() API and determine which parameter is causing the ERROR_INVALID_PARAMETER result. I'd be willing to bet one of the parameters is actually invalid. N. The model I was working on contains a simple chart. Upon opening the model, 30+ error dialogs popped up warning me not able to save or simulate without stateflow license. I deleted the stateflow block and tried to update the diagram, another 30+ error dialog popped up though I don't have any stateflow chart anywhere in the model any more. I cannot even save the model.I receive the following error: Object parameter contains an invalid handle 0 Comments Show all comments Tags stateflowchart4.0simulinkmatlabr12invalidhandleerror Products Simulink Related Content 1 Answer MathWorks Support Team (view profile) 13,595 questions 13,595 answers 13,594 accepted answers Reputation: 2,577 Vote0 Link Direct link to this answer: https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/94881#answer_104233 Answer by MathWorks Support Team MathWorks Support Team (view profile) 13,595
