I finally managed to get it run today as I searched the exchange server for jcb.dll and it bought up a second one in the Symantec folder.  I gave it a try instead of the original (copied from the bin folder, as I'm performing on another computer) and it worked fine with the process explorer confirming that the jcb.dll had in fact loaded. Not sure what impact, if any, this should have on the whole process, but it's not majorly critical at the moment as I'm running it on a test DB.  If anyone knows why this could be wrong, could you please reply. repair an exchange Database using eseutil. THe message comes up saying: Callback DLL not found. Unable to find the callback library jcb.dll (or one of its dependencies). Copy http://www.tcgtech.com.au/blog/?p=28 in the file and hit OK to retry, or hit Cancel to abort You http://www.mysysadmintips.com/windows/servers/264-eseutilexe-unable-to-find-the-callback-library-jcbdll-or-one-of-its-dependencies have checked the c:\program files:exchsrvr\bin folder and the jcb.dll file is there………What is the problem? This seems to be all over the net without a good solution. i stumbled apon one by accident. (many thanks to ismail.mohammed whose post is here http://forums.msexchange.org/Ms_Exchange_2003_ofline_defragmentation/m_1800452411/tm.htm Here is what I did to fix the problem. 1) Create a directory called c:\exchfix jcb.dll error (name does not matter but in the root of c is best) 2) Copy Eseutil.exe, Ese.dll, Jcb.dll, Exosal.dll, and Exchmem.dll from the c:\program files\exchsrvr\bin folder to your new c:\exchfix folder 3) run your eseutil command from there and the jcb.dll error will not come up I dont exactly understand why….but I suspect it has something to do with PATH length. Then tried exactly the same steps for public folder database: Opened command prompt Changed folder to C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\bin\ run: Eseutil /p D:\EXCH\pub1.edb But repair was failing with errors:unable to find the callback library jcb.dll (or one of its dependencies). copy in the file and hit OK to retry, or hit Cancel to abort.Operation terminated with error -2102 (JET_errCallbackNotResolved, A callback function could not be found) after 77.0 seconds.Solution was to copy jcb.dll to following locations:D:\EXCH (Exchange Database folder)C:\WINDOWS\system32I believe C:\WINDOWS\system32 would have been sufficient.
