The actual message code quoted just means "the job did not work due to a JCL jcl error codes error" :-) –Bill Woodger Oct 9 '14 at 17:59 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote The message you are getting is IEFC452I text - JOB NOT RUN - JCL ERROR The value of text will be your userid plus the character(s) you entered when you were asked after the SUBMIT. If you look at file two of your output, you will see a shedload of other messages. Your problem is that JCL can only be written in uppercase. Is this a contest, or a course? We had exactly the same JCL (different problem) a couple of days ago. If you change everything to uppercase (in the line-number area type uc99 on the first line, and it will "uppercase" the next 99 lines (saving you having to work out how many) and assuming your dataset exists you will be good to go. As with the other question, for a SORT step, SYSYDUMP and SYSPRINT are irrelevant. Delete those lines. Also note that you have a SORT Control Card, which is not itself JCL, but also needs to be in uppercase. share|improve this answer edited Oct 9 '14 at 17:56 answered Oct 9 '14 at 17:36 Bill Woodger 10.6k32137 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By pos

The job in CSF displays a "pnode" = input and "job status" = submitted but nothing to indicate an error. Reading through the manual I found a "sysmsgs" command which would appear to fix the "no indication" problem. I set up a test using sysmsgs 'IEFC452I' ccfail desc(2) assuming that this would show up as a failed job in ESP andsend a WTO message but I can't get it to trigger. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on how to handle the JCL error notification. Running ESP 11.3 on a z/os 1.12 system Thanks No one else has this questionMark as assumed answeredOutcomesVisibility: CA Workload Automation1588 ViewsLast modified on Feb 13, 2014 3:19 PMTags:ca_workload_automation_esp_editionContent tagged with ca_workload_automation_esp_editionCategories: CA Workload Automation ESPThis content has been marked as final. The rationale is that CCFAIL inserts a step namedESPCCFCKas the last step of the job to catch the co
