it only takes a minute: Sign up How do I investigate the cause of a JVM crash? up vote 20 down vote favorite 4 One day ago, after a few months of normal working, our java app starts to crash occasionally with the following error: # # A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment: # jvm error 517 blackberry torch # Internal Error (safepoint.cpp:247), pid=2075, tid=140042095163136 # guarantee(PageArmed == 0) failed: invariant # # JRE version: 6.0_23-b05 # Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (19.0-b09 mixed mode linux-amd64 compressed oops) # An error report file with more information is saved as: # /var/chat/jSocketer/build/hs_err_pid2075.log # # If you would like to submit a bug report, please visit: # http://java.sun.com/webapps/bugreport/crash.jsp # I looked in hs_err_pid2075.log and saw that there was an active thread, that processed a network communication. However there wasn't any application or environment changes done in the last few months. Also there wasn't any load growth. What can I do to understand, what is the reason of crash? Are there any common steps to investigate a jvm crash? They point to bugs in the JVM and can't easily be worked around. I'd consider upgrading your JRE if you can. en.wikipedia.org/wik

It's working fine on several platforms, but unfortunately not on AIX http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8152393/how-do-i-investigate-the-cause-of-a-jvm-crash with a Java version > 1.6 (SR8 FP1). I've written a small test program that only tries to load the library (System.loadLibrary("jnilib")) to ensure that the problem isn't caused by any other part of our program. This test program successfully loads the library with Java 1.6 SR8 FP1 (fullversion: "JRE 1.6.0 IBM AIX build pap3260sr8fp1-20100624_01 (SR8 FP1)"), https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/forums/html/topic?id=77777777-0000-0000-0000-000014903450 but it fails with Java 1.6 SR9 FP2 (fullversion: "JRE 1.6.0 IBM AIX build pap3260sr9fp2-20110627_03 (SR9 FP2)") or any newer version with an UnsatisfiedLinkError: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: jnilib (No such file or directory) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibraryWithPath(ClassLoader.java:1018) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibraryWithClassLoader(ClassLoader.java:982) at java.lang.System.loadLibrary(System.java:506) at com.betasystems.jdmc.jni.JDMConnector.

Resuming Billing When Accounts Are Reactivated When you reactivate a closed account, jvm error 517 the PCM_OP_CUST_SET_STATUS opcode internally calls the PCM_OP_BILL_RESUME_BILLING opcode to resume billing for that account.
