that the JVM found the "boot in progress" flag was set on startup. The screen is intended to break continuous reset loops so that corrective action can be taken. 102 Invalid code in filesystem The system has checked the .COD files in the handheld for modification, and determined that there is a problem with one or more .COD files. If all loads fail, it could indicate a build process error where there was a problem jvm error 545 blackberry 9900 signing the codfiles. If some user action to the device caused this problem, the reset cycle will be continuous since the code in the filesystem has been corrupted. The only recovery method is to wipe the device and restore a new system. 103 Cannot find starting address The starting address for the boot .COD file cannot be found. I have been using a Blackberry 7100i for Nextel for over 6 months now and I have ran into the same problem 3 times. The phone goes to a blank white screen and it says JVM Error 102 and my only options are Reset. When I push Reset, it is a continuous loop. In the past 3 days this has happened on 2 different units. The java apps I have on the blackberry are TeleNav, TeleNav Track, and Texas Holdem' 2. Do you think it is a Java related problem or what is it? Your only option is to reinstall the OS after wipeing the handheld clean. Here is a little step by step for you. 1) Get javaloader (can be found on blackberryforums.com, or I can email you my copy if you PM me). 2) Get the latest Blackberry OS from RIM which you can get HERE 3) Run the Blackberry OS installer you just down

Afterwards, follow the menus on screen and cross your fingers. Recently, I am running into java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space error because I am not being conservative on memory usage. The user can open unlimited number of files, and the program keeps the opened objects in the memory. After a quick research I found Ergonomics in the 5.0 Java Virtual Machine and others saying on Windows machine the JVM defaults max heap size as 64MB. Given this situation, how should I deal with this constraint? I could increase the max heap size using command line option to java, but that would require figuring out available RAM and writing some launching program or script. Besides, increasing to some finite max does not ultimately get rid of the issue. I could rewrite some of my code to persist objects to file system frequently (using database is the same thing) to free up the memory. It could work, but it's probably a lot work too. If you could point me to details of above ideas or some alternatives like automatic virtual memory, extending heap size dynamically, that will be great. java java-ee jvm out-of-memory heap-memory share|improve this question edited Sep 30 at 14:04 Bhaskara Arani 2751331 asked Sep 1 '08 at
