But then i looked at my lens and noticed it was crooked, i just snapped it into place and voila it worked. I was so relieved! I fix these cameras. My service is on my E-bay store (camera-shy-anna) The lense is the only moving part on the camera. You will have to get a new lense assembly and get someone or you can carefully dismantle the whole camera to get to it. You can Get broken Cameras with good lenses and try the repair yourself but it is a delicate procedure , and you could end up with a pile of junk if you are not extremely carefull. According to some websites, "lens error" on Kodak Digital cameras is a common problem, the solution? pretty simple. (So simple that, actually, you will be surprised). Let's find what's wrong with those cameras, specially the EasyShare models. (5/10/2007) I purchased a Kodak camera model Easyshare C330, but there was a problem on the lens. When I turned the camera on, the screen shows the error 15 and 25. It says something about "Lens error" and "Lens stepper motor error". I was looking for some information on internet about how to fix this problem and I found this is a common failure on Easyshare kodak cameras. So far, this problem affects models DX 4530, V550, C310, C330, C643 C743, LS443 and who knows how many models. The solution posted on internet is so simple: Hit it. bang the camera and the lens will work again. Even a woman said she was so upset, she throwed the camera against the wall and miracle!, it was working again. So, How is possible that "banging" the camera will fix it? Doesn't make sense. My camera have no serial number as it was erased because the use (Kodak, next time, engrave serial numbers), so I was not able to determine if it still under warranty. Kodak charges more than $100.00 to fix it plus shipping and handling... a new camera is less than $100.00 I decided to find the reason who those camera fails, even the Nikon cameras (coolpix models) have the same problem, specially the L3 and L4. As I have experience on electronics and destroying some items, I decided to find the source of the failure by myself. First, I removed 6 screws from the camera. *** Warning *** Do not try this. Hi-voltages are present on all digital cameras. To remove the front cover, I had to remove two screws on the side. Before removing the cover, I had to pry the trigger to remove it. Now, the front will come out. Now, after receiving a nasty shock becase I was not careful enough, I had to discharge the capacitor. It contains more than 300 volts with a high current charge. Believe me: You shoud NOT try to open your camera unless you know what are you doing. After removing the cover, I found there is no access to the lens mechanism, so I had to find another way to disassemble it. While looking, I saw the low quality work done on the camera during assembly at the factory. To access the lens, I had to remove the display. Removing it carefully as I had to use a flat
