What can I do to fix it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbRdXIaZbkg Share this conversation Expert: Roger replied3 years ago. Hi there. My name is XXXXX XXXXX it would be my pleasure to help with your issue. The E45 error with some Kodak models is what other camera manufacturers call a lens error. When you power on your camera it goes through a start up process where the lens goes through it's full range of motion. If it meets the slightest resistance during this process it will normally either go into an error state, or shut down. Here's what to try.1. http://www.justanswer.com/video-camera-repair/7iebd-kodak-easyshare-v705-dual-lens-digital-camera.html Power down the camera, remove the batteries, memory card, and any other accessories that may be removable and let it sit for a few minutes. Then re-install new or verified fully charged batteries only and try powering it on. If you get the same error continue on.2. Look down the barrel of the lens. What you are looking for is the tiny gap where the lens and the camera body meet. If the gap is larger in one area than another, then press gently where the gap is the largest and listen for a click.3. Using canned air, blow out the area where the lens and the camera body meet. Use short bursts of air and do this with the lens facing downwards. It only takes one grain of sand to cause this error.4. If nothing seems to be working, and only if the camera is out of warranty should you try this last method. I know it sounds low tech, but it actually works more often than anything else. Power on the camera and as it's powering on, strike the bottom of the camera on a hard surface (desk, palm of hand, carpet). You may have to do this several times at different angles, each time power cycling the camera.Hope this helps. If you go through these steps and you still have the same issue, then you most likely have a damaged gear in the lens drive that will require sending the camera in for service. HelloThe problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.Use these at camera error e45 own risk as it may further damage the camera.Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera. If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories. You can also have a look at THIS link.Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me
