I get a 3101 error "Check the authentication methods of both the sender and the recipient." I can still send a print job to it

across the network, and the copier still works. I can still ping it. None of the settings on the machine has changed. STMP open relay, no authentication required since it's internal. Our email is relayed through Intermedia. I've contacted them to see if anything had changed on their end and it hasn't. Support walked me through a few troubleshooting steps but nothing resolves. I checked my firewall and port 25 isn't blocked. I checked the W2K8 print server kyocera error codes and nothing is showing up out of the ordinary in the event viewer. The Kyocera shows up on the printer list. I've restarted the print spool service, restarted the print server, restarted the kyrocera several times. Tried spelling out as well as IP version of the smtp address. Tests on the kyocera are successful, but when I try to actually scan to an email, to several different emails, it doesn't work. It's also able to scan straight to a network folder, and that part isn't working either. Anyone have any other ideas? If so, can you authenticate manually? Can you telnet (using port 25) to your mail server from an IP on the same subnet and get the helo response? Are the helper apps (db assistant and/or LDAP converter) running on the specified server and has the server had any service packs or anything else that may have enabled or changed the firewall settings? That's about all I can think of off the top of my head. I have 5 Kyocera's across a wide area

Check the cable and the hub. Otherwise, the server name or the host name of the SMTP server is not set correctly. Use COMMAND CENTER and register the SMTP server name and the host name correctly. If you can print to the 5050, you know the network connection to the machine is fine. I'd try using the IP address of the exchange server first. If this fixes it, check the DNS settings in the copier. If that doesn't work, try running 'telnet exchangeserverName 25' from a command prompt on a nearby computer. You should see something like '220 exchangeserverDNSname ESMTP' as a response if it connects. If this works, I'd start with checking the gateway settings on the copier. If it doesn't con
