Adprep Failed To Verify Whether Schema Master Has Completed A Replication Cycle After Last Reboot
to add a windows 2k8 r2 DC. But there is an error when i use the "adprep32 /forest" at the 2K3 SRV. Here is some information about my error: 0. 1. The 2K3 SRV has the five FSMO roles.(checking by "Netdom Query FSMO") 2. The 2K3 SRV is the adprep encountered an ldap error 0x20ae only DC in the AD.(checking by "ntdsutil") 3. I login as the AD Admin and the Schema Admin. 4. DCDIAG /V is passed except the system log. 5. The ADPrep log file as follow(error): [2010/03/01:08:54:54.566] Adprep verified the state of operation cn=11c39bed-4bee-45f5-b195-8da0e05b573a,cn=Operations,cn=ForestUpdates,CN=Configuration,DC=nsp,DC=gz. [Status/Consequence] The operation has not run or is not currently running. It will be run next. [2010/03/01:08:54:54.581] ADPREP was unable to modify the default security descriptor on object CN=ms-DS-Managed-Service-Account,CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=nsp,DC=gz. [Status/Consequence] Adprep attempts to merge the existing default security descriptors with the new access control entry (ACE). [User Action] Check the log file ADPrep.log in the C:\WINDOWS\debug\adprep\logs\20100301085443 directory for more information. [2010/03/01:08:54:54.597] Adprep encountered an LDAP error. Error code: 0x20. Server extended error code: 0x208d, Server error message: 0000208D: NameErr: DSID-031001CD, problem 2001 (NO_OBJECT), data 0, best match of: 'CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=nsp,DC=gz' . What is the Forest and Domain level you are currently on (2000 or 2003)? It's appears that the machine you are running ADPREP on is unable to contact the domain controller with the Schema Master FSMO role, or the account you are using does not have sufficient rights to the Schema. Did you have any issues where you had to pull a domain controller out of the forest / domain without demoting it? Is it possible that the Schema master roll isn't running? Have you checked your event logs on your domain controllers for any NTFRS or Journal Wrapper errors? It's possible that a domain controller is running, but isn't fully up as a domain controller. (I know that sounds crazy, but existing user accounts and resources will remain while anything new will h
