FLEX Technote (troubleshooting) Problem(Abstract) Attempts to check out a license result in the error "User host not on INCLUDE list for feature" when bad v80_lk signature using IBM Rational products. Symptom fpuriIn IBM Rational Team Concert, the following license manager error matlab error will be seen in the IBM Rational Jazz Team Server (JTS) log file: ERROR com.ibm.rational.common.token.licensing - com.telelogic.licensing.LicenseUnknownException User/host matlab is unable to connect to the license server not on INCLUDE list for feature. Feature: JazzToken License path: 19353@rtc.lic.tuc.us.ray.com:FLEXnet Licensing error:-39,147 Cause FLEXnet licensing software allows you to reserve licenses for certain users, or groups of users, using an options https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/98895-why-do-i-receive-license-manager-error-39 file. This message usually means you are trying to check out a license reserved for another user or group. Diagnosing the problem Check whether your license server was started with an options file. The path to the options file may appear in your license file as the fourth field on the VENDOR line (or DAEMON line), for example: VENDOR ibmratl /path_to_ibmratl_daemon /any_path/any_name.opt If the http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21579675 path is omitted from the VENDOR line, the vendor daemon automatically looks for a file named vendor.opt (where vendor is the vendor daemon name, for example, ibmratl.opt) in the same directory as the license file. The following option keywords restrict who may use licenses or where licenses may be used: EXCLUDE, EXCLUDEALL, EXCLUDE_BORROW, INCLUDE, INCLUDEALL, INCLUDE_BORROW, MAX, and RESERVE. These options take a type argument, which specifies whether the restriction is based on USER, HOST, DISPLAY, INTERNET, or PROJECT. Resolving the problem Update your option file as desired, then stop and restart the license server lmgrd, or run the lmreread utility to force the VENDOR daemon to reread the options file. Note: If LDAP is used for login in a mixed environment, the username from the Unix or Linux client might be different from the one on Microsoft Windows. For example, the username might be "domain/userid" on Linux and "userid" on Windows. Incorporated both names in the option file. For details of option file usage and syntax, see the FLEXnet Licensing End User Guide from Flexera Software. and solve floating licensing problems with the ARM tools. The guide is intended to help you identify an error, and navigate the product documentation and Knowledge Article database to solve it. Before proceeding further with the guide it is recommended you review the steps for setting up a floating license server, and its client workstations, in the ARM FLEXnet License Management Guide. The guide makes number a number of assumptions: You are familiar with operating system(s) installed on the server and client machines The operating system(s) being used are on the supported platforms list for the ARM product(s) you have You are using the FLEX binaries (lmgrd, armlmd, lmutil, etc..) provided by ARM You have the FLEX binaries on your PATH, on both the server and client You are using ARM's RealView Development Suite (RVDS) tools (although the information is largely generic to all FLEXnetmanagedtools from ARM) For a Windows install of RVDS, the installer will by default add the FLEX binaries to the PATH. For Linux installs, you will need to source the configuration script generated by the installer (e.g. RVDS40Env.posh). If after following the steps in this FAQ you are still unable to use your tools, please contact license.support@arm.com. Part 1: Client Or Server? The first step in the diagnostic is to determine whether the client machine is able to successfully communicate with the server. To do this, run two quick tests: 1) On the client Open acommand promptand enter: lmutil lmstat -a This command queries all the license servers on the search path (ARMLMD_LICENSE_FILE and LM_LICENSE_FILE). The output will look something like this: c:\>lmutil lmstat -a lmutil - Copyright (c) 1989-2006 Macrovision Europe Ltd. and/or Macrovision Corporation. All Rights Reserved.
