If this is occuring, check that there are no more pending updates within Excel by going to the Help menu and selecting "Check for Updates." Note: If there are pending updates for the "Microsoft AutoUpdater," make necessary updates. Once completed, go back to the Help menu and again select, "Check for Updates." It is not needed. It is a bug in VBA that appeared about six months ago with one of Microsoft's hot fixes as far as I can tell. It gets introduced when one adds a refedit to a userform. Some installations can handle it, some can not. Nor can I write a macro in a blank sheet * Unable to recordı although I have checked VB is installed Trying to open the Visual Basic Editor results in Canıt load Visual Basic for Applicationsı Word is similar * The macro could not be createdı and Could not open macro storageı Disastrous! Please help Francis Hookham Error in loading DLL Responses to "Error in loading DLL" Francis Hookham Mark Perka-MS Guest Posts: n/a Re: Error in loading DLL Posted: 06-01-2006, 11:07 PM Francis -- when you reinitialised and loaded everything from scratch do you mean you actually reformatted the machine? ... If not, you still may not have a 'clean' install here. The best thing that I could suggest on your machine where vb is not working is to be sure you have a 'clean' install of office. I'll give the steps here. 1. Run remove office -- which can be found in the "Additional Tools" folder of your Office 2004 cd 2. When you have completed running the 'remove office' utility in the finder choose - Go Home, then choose the "Library" folder, then the Preferences Folder - then delete the "Microsoft" folder 3. In the finder once again go to your home folder, then inside the Documents folder - delete the "Microsoft User Data" folder -- this process will completely clean up and out your old installation of office. 4. Now reinstall using the CD and you *should* have a clean install of Office which behaves VB and all. Good luck Francis, and let us know if things improve. note: this posting implies no warranties, guarantees etc. "Francis Hookham"
