Yahoo Messenger Install.log File Missing
Joined: Dec 13, 2000 Messages: 13 I have already posted a message about this but I still have the problem, which I am hoping install.log file download free someone can help me with. I need to uninstall Incredimail but cannot do it. Whether I try to do this through Add/Remove in the Control Panel or whether I click on Incredimail>Uninstall, a box comes up asking me which programme https://www.khattam.info/could-not-open-installlog-file-problem-solved-2009-04-21.html I wish to use to open INSTALL.LOG. If I then click on 'Open' another box comes up which C:\INSTALL.LOG file not found. I think I can gather from that, that somehow the Install. log file has been deleted. Does anyone know if that is the case, and if so, how, and where do I go to get it back again? When I wrote in before, someone wrote back and told me to uninstall Incredimail through Add/Remove in the Control Panel. They https://forums.techguy.org/threads/resolved-install-log-file-not-found-cant-uninstall-incredimail.97335/ of course didn't read my message properly as I have already tried that. I am now too worried to install anything else in case I need to uninstall it and can't because of this INSTALL.LOG not being found. Help! Please! Many thanks Carrie Carrie-ann, Sep 27, 2002 #1 Sponsor lesamie Joined: Mar 8, 2002 Messages: 82 Hi, Carrie-ann, Do you still have the original installation .exe file for Incredimail? as the best thing to do is re-install it over itself, that will create a new install log which will enable you to uninstall the program from Add\Remove. Full Answer If the end user mistakenly deletes the original installation log, then re-installing the program recreates the log file so that the uninstall script can complete its task. If the uninstall string in the registry is incorrect, this can be corrected by searching for the string using Regedit and providing the correct path. Alternatively, if the installer install log file did not create a log file during the first time around, then the user may use Installation Expert to force the creation of a log file. These workarounds allow the uninstaller to complete its task. It is vital to complete the uninstallation process correctly because removing packages manually leaves erroneous records in the Windows registry. If the end user wants to re-install a package at a later date, then these records may interfere with that fresh installation process.
