Check the public group ID. Database Server Error: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied.” My Solution: The fact: the default passwords for both pubuser and privuser in Oracle DB have been changed. The error message didn't say the pubuser is wrong because the correct password has been given during the configuration. However, the password for privuser has no way to be set during the database configuration. you should run the dbconfig.exe in

If so this should have installed Oracle XE, created the database users and schema, and configured the P6 client alias for you. Then all you would need to do is login with username "admin" password "admin" For reference the default P6v7 database users are: -admprm$pm -privprm$pm -pubprm$pm Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. Re: Prinavera P6 v7 on Windows 7 Home Premiun 726616 Jun 30, 2011 5:21 PM (in response to cruz878) and the password for all database users is the one you provided when installing Oracle XE. default is "Prima123Vera". best of luck. P6 database connection Login or register to post comments 4 replies [Last post] Mon, 2009-11-23 07:58 Hamish King Offline Joined: 2 Mar 2004 Posts: 5 Groups: None Hello, I am http://www.planningplanet.com/forums/primavera-version-pm5-pm6/420627/p6-database-connection new to P6 and am having trouble configuring the database. It was working fine until my cuputer crashed and when I open P6 it now asks for me to configure the database. When I go http://ora-01017.ora-code.com/ through that process, using my log in - I get the following message: Bad private user name or password. Check the public group ID. Database Server Error: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist logon denied I get the same error if I use the admin log in too. I have tried backing up and restoring the datatbase but to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated as I am losing days of work here!! Thanks! I think you are right (it was installed in a rush...) I have the password set at installation as I can use it to get into the database administrator. My guess is something went wrong with the database when my computer crashed. I left it with the IT chap this afternoon to see what he can do but it appears I know more about the software then he, so it does not bode well. Might have to do a total reinstall :-( Top Login or register to post comments Mon, 2009-11-23 08:46 #2 Arnold Puy Offline Joined: 25 Apr 2007 Posts: 1147 Groups: GPC Qatar, Pinoy Planning Planet Community Hi Hamish, If I am not mistaken you installed the Oracle XE (Oracle Express Edition). Well, the passwords for these users will be the password you provide during installation. You must remember this password because it will be used as the password for all default database users created during installation.
