Technote (troubleshooting) Problem The user cannot access their SmartCloud mail server because server error the servers domino directory the server doesn't recognize the certificate in their ID file. Other users can

access their SmartCloud mail servers. This note assumes the organization is already correctly configured for hybrid SmartCloud Notes access, lotus notes certificate expired and that their certifiers are registered as described in Providing a certifier ID file. Cause The message means exactly what it says. The user's mail file was created using a certifier ID,
Lotus Notes Internet Certificate
but that certifier ID has not been registered with the SmartCloud service, so SmartCloud can't tell that the ID file is authentic. This often may occur if a local administrator has mistakenly created a new certifier ID and created the new user ID file using that certifier (instead of using the same certifier ID used elsewhere in the organization). The "organization" and "organizational unit" rcplauncher.exe error lotus notes of the user ID file might match those of other users in the organization, but anyone can create a certifier ID file with any organization name in it. All persons issuing user ID files must use the same root certifier -- not just one that happens to contain the same organization name. Diagnosing the problem To confirm that this is the cause of the problem, compare the "Issuer key identifier" of the user having the problem, with some other user who has the same organization name in their ID but who can access the SmartCloud servers. This information can be found for the current user under File > Security > User Security... > Your Identity > Your certificates, using the Advanced Details button. Resolving the problem Re-create the ID file using the correct certifier ID file. I installed Lotus Notes 6.5. After installation and putting in the correct information within the location preferences (the same info as the rest of the computers, and they http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd6forum.nsf/DateAllFlatweb/b80f16dafadefeed8525756900547b48?OpenDocument work), I keep receiving this error: "Server Error: The server's Domino Directory does not contain any cross certificates capable of authenticating you" I did some research and followed directions from a couple of websites. This is what I did: 1.) Went into Domino Administrator 2.) Configuration Tab 3.) Certification 4.) Cross Certify 5.) Put in the password to certify and selected this user to cross certify. Everything went through fine. I even replicated to make sure everything was up to date. Rebooted this users computer. And I still get the same error. I even un-installed and then re-install Lotus a few times and still this error persists. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to fix this? Any and all information would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks, Doug Return to top Server Error: The server's Domino D... (Doug Wasi 26.Feb.09) . . RE: Server Error: The server's Domi... of authenticating you Symptom: I am getting the error message "The server's Domino directory does not contain any cross certificates capable of authenticating you". Resolution -1 Solution 1: Ensure connection to a GNA Notes http://totallotusnotessolution.blogspot.com/2010/11/error-servers-domino-directory-does-not.html Server by: Checking the name of the Server. GNA servers use the naming convention DxMLyyy or DxxDBLyy If the server can be opened without the use of a Connection Document, then it is GNA. http://archive.midrange.com/domino400/200605/msg00065.html IF attempting to connect to a non-GNA server, contact the Server Administrator. Resolution -2 Solution 2: Make sure the correct ID file is being used. IF more than one copy of their Notes ID lotus notes file is being used, THEN determine which one is the newest via File Properties (Creation Date) and ensure that this is being used by Notes Solution 3: Make sure that the current Location Document is correctly configured for your Mail Server. Also ensure that the Passthru Server field does not contain a non-GNA Server. Solution 4: Create a new Location Document. For additional information about creating a new error in lotus location document, click here. Solution 5: Create a new Personal Address Book.
