Lotus Notes Mailman Error 8.5.1
Word Technote (troubleshooting) Problem When sending a document as an attachment from a 3rd party program such as MS Office or Adobe Acrobat, Lotus Notes may show a pop up error: "Invalid Pointer" Cause This error can occur if the Notes client's location document is not configured properly. For example: pointing to a local mail file when no local replica exists. The error can also occur if there is no access to the mail file such as a mail server being down. Resolving the problem Confirm Notes is set up as the default mail program, confirm the location document is properly configured to point to the mail database and that the mail file is accessible. To check the location document, go to File > Preferences > Locations... and edit the appropriate one. (Or click the location listed in the bottom right of the client and choose "Edit locations.."). On the mail tab, confirm the mail file location is correct (either server or local) and the mail file name.
