Have a look in Control Panel, Uninstall Programs if there any programs that you know for sure you don't want and then uninstall them And you should run a virus scan on your drive. I use Avast free download from CNET Also having 2 different types of ram doesn't help. Get rid of some and install 8GB of the same ram. When I check task manager or resource monitor I find that there is nearly 8GB free. Several (one or two) processes (rdbms, tomcat server, etc.) will be consuming large (~4GB of memory each) but the machine does not seem to be running low on memory when this warning is displayed. My questions: Why is this warning being displayed if the amount of physical memory seems to be more than adequate for the tasks at hand? Is there a way to set thresholds for when these low memory warnings are issued? windows-7 share|improve this question asked Apr 10 '13 at 20:22 John Clark 3314 migrated from serverfault.com Apr 10 '13 at 20:41 This question came from our site for system and network administrators.
