Here are some known causes for this. 1 - No version of Extended MAPI is installed. Either Outlook or MAPICDO must be installed. See http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=E17E7F31-079A-43A9-BFF2-0A110307611E to install MAPICDO. 2 - The 64 bit version of Outlook 2010 is installed. cardscan mapi error The 64 bit version of Outlook 2010 requires the 64 bit build of MFCMAPI.
