Let's get rid of the malware remants and some leftover McAfee entries in the registry. Please download ERUNT from here and back up your entire registry http://www.snapfiles.com/get/erunt.htmlHaving done that then please apply the registry fix below QuoteREGEDIT4[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\shared tools\msconfig\startupreg\{2CF0B992-5EEB-4143-99C0-5297EF71F444}][HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\shared tools\msconfig\startupreg]"0IwM"=-"2LRX2W83X2T3MQ"=-"Bakra"=-"Dpi"=-"Pcsv"=-"Rundll32_8"=-"RVP"=-"updmgr"=-"WebSavingsfromEbates"=-"WhenUSave"=-"WhenUSearch"=-"MCAgentExe"=-"MCUpdateExe"=-Next you will need to create the repair registry fix to do that copy and paste ALL of the above in the quote box to a notepad file. Ensure there is no space above the REGEDIT4.Then in notepad go to FILE > SAVE AS and in the dropdown box select SAVE AS TYPE to ALL FILES Then in the FILE NAME box type fix.regThis will create a fix.reg file on your desktop. To use this file you will need to right click the icon and select merge, accept the warning if it appears and you are done. John John (MVP), May 20, 2008 #2 Advertisements Bram Weiser Guest Dear John (& Everyone), mccwsawindow error Hello. I just started experiencing this same issue and found your exchange with Jonathan while searching the Web for information. However, my situation is different...I don't subscribe to BT (British Telecom?), so my PC is not running BTHelpNotifier. I subscribe to Verizon Online, a DSL provider that, curiously, has something called "McciTrayApp" running on my system (according to the Windows Task Manager), which is why I'm thinking this could also be related to them somehow. In short, though, if someone is getting those MCCWSAWINDOW messages, and is NOT a BT subscriber, then what else might be causing them? Please let me (and others) know. Thank you very much. Sincerely, Bram Weiser "John John (MVP)" wrote: > A quick search on the net seems to indicate that it is owed by > BTHelpNotifier and that disabling it resolves the problem. > > http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt...p=MCCWSAWindow&y=Search&fr=yfp-t-501&ei=UTF-8 > > John > > Jonathan Atkinson wrote: > > > When closing down my computer, which runs on XP Home Edition with Support > > Packs, I get an error message, MCCWSAWindow: this program is not responding > > and inviting me to close it manually.
