"move data process error-117". ineed to know what is the problem and how to fix please! thank you Guest, Aug 24, 2004 #1 Advertisements Jimmy S. If you still get that error try copying the CD to your hard drive. If it copies successfully install the game from there instead of from the CD. -- Cheers, Windows XP MVP Shell / User Jimmy S. http://mvp.support.microsoft.com Game FAQs: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=FH;[LN];gms Visit my Zone.com / Gaming Helpsite: http://nibblesnbits.tk or Call / Contact MS Support at: http://www.novahq.net/forum/showthread.php?t=17847 http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=sz;en-us;top My advice is donated "AS IS" without warranty; nor do I confer any rights. Jimmy S., Aug 24, 2004 #2 Advertisements Thane of Lochaber Guest I am pretty sure this is caused by the game not being able to find the temp directory; older games have trouble with the ridiculously long path to it. Try extracing the game's setup file beforehand to somewhere like C:\TEMP and then run setup from there. You could also set your temp variable to c:\windows\temp instead of the temp http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/move-data-process-error-117.514405/ folder in your profile directory. I've had this problem with several older games and demos and this always takes care of it. <> wrote in message news:c16e01c489ed$fc075550$... > when i install delta force 2 ,i recieve a message > of "move data process error-117". ineed to know what is > the problem and how to fix please! thank you Thane of Lochaber, Aug 24, 2004 #3 Guest Guest "Thane of Lochaber" wrote: > I am pretty sure this is caused by the game not being able to find the temp > directory; older games have trouble with the ridiculously long path to it. > Try extracing the game's setup file beforehand to somewhere like C:\TEMP and > then run setup from there. Some antivirus applications prevent installers from accessing important files required for installation. Once the software is installed, you should enable the antivirus applications again.
