Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): XML, XMLNS, XMLNSC, BIP5009, BIP5004 , IC85220 Local fix Replacing the following files with equivalents from a 7.0.0.2 install resolves the problem: xml4c/lib/libxml4c.1.a xml4c/lib/libXML4CMessages57.1.a Problem summary **************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Message Broker and IBM Integration Bus using the XML, XMLNS or XMLNSC Parsers. Platforms affected: MultiPlatform **************************************************************** PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When processing a message in error code 5004 the XML, XMLNS or XMLNSC domain in codepages other than utf-8 or utf-16 the ParserException with BIP5004E may be observed if the bitstream contains a byte order mark (BOM) as below: ParserException BIP5004E: An XML parsing error ''Invalid document structure '' occurred on line 1 column 1 when parsing element ''XML''. Internal error codes are '186' and ''''. The problem was introduced by an update to the XML4C component which causes stricter validation of non-unicode bitstreams . This results in the Byte Order Mark (BOM) no longer being tolerated for non-Unicode codepages. This problem is same as APAR IC85220. However IC85220 applies only to MRM-XML parser. There are a number of resource name changes between WebSphere Message Broker and IBM Integration Bus Version 9.0. For details visit http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/wmbhelp/v9r0m0/topic/com.ibm.e tools.mft.doc/bb23814_.htm Problem conclusion A new environment variable MQSI_XML_IGNORE_BOM has been added. When set to any value this causes a utf-8 or utf-16 BOM at the beginning of an XML, XMLNS or XMLNSC bitstream to be ignored during parsing. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: Version Maintenance Level v7.0 7.0.0.8 v8.0 8.0.0.6 v9.0 9.0.0.4 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from: http://www-01.ibm.com/suppo
