Is thereany other https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/328249 hotfix that needs to be applied? The other problem I faced today was the following:When viewing a project in PWA, the tasks are all displayed correctly. However, when I check out the project to MS project, a blank project isdisplayed.Has anyone else faced this problem before? And how do I download the projectto MS Project?Thanks--Sawita omar 2004-12-22 10:13:43 http://microsoft.public.project.pro-and-server.narkive.com/WGma4VYw/project-spooler-error-blank-project-when-checking-out-a-project UTC PermalinkRaw Message Hi,i'm having the same problems as you are, but i can help you in one thing, you can open the project in MS Project by clicking the "Build" tab in thePWA after you've selected the project you want to open, that should open upthe MS Project for you and in it the project you selected.as for the other problems, i'm still waiting for a solution my self.Post by SawitaHiWe have been using MS Project 2003 and Project server 2003 for a few weeks, and have faced the project server spooler problem every few days. When publishing tasks to project server or accepting task updates, we getSystem error, database error and Unknown error on different occasions.- Back up the project as a .mpp file- Delete the project from project server- Upload the .mpp file and overwrite actualsThe problems re-appeared even after applying SP1 and hotfix 887799. The quick remedy is to open the offending project and mark all of your local resources as "generic" by setting the generic flag to Yes. Top MS Project Server Spooler Error by matt » Wed, 21 Jul 2004 04:03:42 Strongly recommend changing Workgroup to None as the best method. Even generic resources should first be defined in the ERP. Another thought might be to encourage users to always use the "Build Team from Enterprise" option and select resouces from the ERP. Try to discourage just typing in resource names - e.g. in Resource Names column in the Gantt Chart view. Any mispelling gets entered in your plan as a completely new resource with the default workgroup field set to - probably "Default". Also users often type a ;(semi-colon) instead of a ,(comma) when assigning multiple resoruces and this can result in new resources with the name "john smith;sam jones;tony green" ! Finally introduce users to the benefits of using the Assign Resources dialog in MSP (2 faces on the toolbar). It makes assigning resources a doddle and has fringe benefits when coupled with filtering on availability etc. There's also a neat shortcut to Add Resources from Project Server - although 2003 has a bug that closes the dialog when you finish building your team BTW: anyone with a solution to this little issue...?
