Is this the case? Did you create a database backup to multiple files? If so, you need all of them to do the restore. Here is the SQL statement: RESTORE DATABASE NewDB FROM DISK = 'C:ackupMyBackup.bak' It generates this error: Server: Msg 3132, Level 16, State 1, Line 2 The RAID set for database 'NewDB' is missing member number 2. Server: Msg ms sql error 3013, Level 16, State 1, Line 2 Backup or restore operation terminating abnormally. The backup was made to a disk file on a Windows 98 machine running Desktop SQL. I'm trying to restore to a WINNT machine, but I don't think this should cause any problems. The error message is bizarre since I don't have a RAID array on either machine. I've also tried restoring to the exact same machine that created the backup file but a different DB name and got the same error. I've tried creating the NewDB database before running the script and tried using the Restore utility in Enterprise manager with the same results. I'm stumped. Any Ideas? Then use RESTORE DATABASE using the WITH FILE option to restore the specific backup that you want. This is why I put only one backup in each file. I always create a new file or overwrite the old one.Tara Kizer seyha_moth Yak Posting Veteran Cambodia 74 Posts Posted-01/09/2007: 20:41:56 Thank u for your replyI can resolve my problem with your help.Good Luck and Succeed your work and studyseyha moth madhuotp Yak Posting Veteran 78 Posts Posted-01/09/2007: 23:38:08 hope u r not restoring the SQL 2000 backup in SQL 2005 machine...Madhu tkizer Almighty SQL Goddess USA 38200 Posts Posted-01/10/2007: 01:01:25 Madhu,Why not? That works perfectly fine. You can restore a 2000 backup into 2005. That's one of the ways to perform an upgrade. The other common way is to use detach/attach.Tara Kizer madhuotp Yak Posting Veteran 78 Posts Posted-01/10/2007: 01:08:05
