Mysql Error 1130 Not Allowed To Connect
has been asked lots of times, but none answer my problem. Please read carefully. I was running my website on localhost using Wamp server normally. When today i decided to run an Acunetix scan for vulnerabilities on my localhost server. Acunetix sent tons of commands to the mysql table in short period of time ( since it's localhost the commands went fast ) which cause my mysql server to crash with the error: #1130 - Host 'localhost' is not mysql error number 1130 allowed to connect to this MySQL server What I've already tried: Running mysql through mysqld --skip-grant-tables I had access to mysql while on that, so I tried running DROP USER 'root'@'127.0.0.1'; GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON . TO 'root'@'%'; But I got the error: mysql> DROP USER 'root'@'127.0.0.1'; GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON . TO 'root'@'%'; ERROR 1290 (HY000): The MySQL server is running with the --skip-grant-tables opt ion so it cannot execute this statement ERROR 1064 (42000): You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'TO 'r oot'@'%'' at line 1 I admit I do am a mysql noob but I did my homeworks and searched google, but was unable to find the solution. Any help ? I managed ti fix the issue by reinstalling wamp server and fully uninstalling, even with the mysql. mysql phpmyadmin wamp share|improve this question edited Aug 26 '13 at 19:20 asked Aug 26 '13 at 16:52 Lambasoft 64119 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 4 down vote accepted When your server is running with --skip-grant-tables, you disable all MySQL security so you're not allowed GRANT commands. What you can do, is access the "mysql" database and directly SELECT and UPDATE the rows you need to change. In your case it will be the user table. share|improve this an

I need to change it back to localhost because I changed it to arancillary2125 (my other machines DNS name) but I cannot access mysql (from PHPMYADMIN or command prompt) due to "localhost" not having permissions any more. I am running windows XP // apache // I have tried the following solutions but they didn't work: http://serverfault.com/questions/92870/1130-host-localhost-is-not-allowed-to-connect-to-this-mysql-server mysql permissions access-denied mysql-error-1130 share|improve this question edited http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2547855/1130-host-localhost-is-not-allowed-to-connect-to-this-mysql-server Jun 28 '11 at 16:13 OMG Ponies 198k36356415 asked Mar 30 '10 at 18:57 Raph 26112 See my post edit. –bdl Mar 30 '10 at 20:51 Refer this link: webyog.com/faq/content/23/36/en/… –user1573308 Aug 10 '12 at 12:18 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 14 down vote Whoops. This is on your local machine, I assume? At Start->Run, enter 'services.msc' and locate the MySQL service. Stop the service. Edit: Find your my.ini file (usually in C:\Windows or C:\mysql, etc). If you don't have one, create one. It's just a plain ASCII file. Alter the file, add this in the [mysqld] section: skip-grant-tables. On the command line, issue the command net start MySQL and wait a moment, the MySQL service should start. Still on the command line, issue the command mysql -u root and hit "ENTER". You should be logged into MySQL as the 'root' user. Carefully change your grants and then logout. Stop the MySQL service / server. Re-edit your my.ini file and remove / comment out the skip-grant-tables line, and again start the server. Try to login as root again. Just tested this on my Win XP Pro box. This essentially has the effect of bypassing all the grant tables and thus doesn't bother to lookup whether you're supposed to access it from that machine or not.

In my case, I was upgrading 5.7.1 to 5.7.3. However, this will apply to anyone wanting to upgrade from pre-5.7.2 (including 5.6/5.5) to 5.7.2+. I performed the upgrade, in-place, and restarted mysqld. This was fine. However, then I attempted to connect via the command-line, and received the following error: shell> mysql -uroot -ppass -P3310 ERROR 1130 (HY000): Host 'localhost' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server Searching the net, you'll mostly find RTM replies, which were all accurate as far as I could tell. In all of those prior reported cases, the issues were expected behavior and the issues were ultimately user error. Of course I double-checked my config and data files. I knew I didn't change anything in the user ta

Which is fine, I am reinstalling. First, though, I tried using mysql, mysqlgui, and mysqlcc to get in. The first two: mysql and mysqlgui report that I could not connect with this error: ERROR 1130: Host 'localhost' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server But mysqlcc just crushes when attempting to connect to the localhost. Some things I attemped: Deleting the server registration file under .mysqlcc\connections and then trying to recreate it. How to repeat: I was following the instructions here: http://www.mysql.com/doc/en/Windows_running.html After I completed them, I could not longer login back into the system. And MySQLCC started crushing. My general feeling is that it just does not handle the ERROR 1130. [24 Nov 2003 8:54] Miguel Solorzano Yes this known MySQLCC bug which crash when can't connect with the server. [19 Dec 2004 23:59] Michael Hall So what? It's a permanent problem? I Have Version 2.5.3-rc1 E-mail me at ddaydude@gmail.com [11 Apr 2006 17:31] Shared Media You have to add the remote User and his/her IP addy to the DB... You must grant access to the given user from that client IP address: #> mysql -u root mysql -p (If you changed the MySQL Root name and password, type: mysql -h localhost -u my.new.name.I.created -p) mysql> grant all on test.* to 'username'@'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx'; You will then be able to access via remote. [11 Sep 2006 13:30] Jason Schoeman Shared Media had it 100% right : I was asked by someone why they cant connect remotely to MySQL with the standard "root" user, do the following : $ mysql -u root -p mysql> GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO 'root'@'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' IDENTIFIED BY 'xxxxxxx' WITH GRANT OPTION; Remember you need to create an account with your IP (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) as host, this tells MySQL that this user with this IP has permission to remotely access the Database.
