yesterday I updated my Workbench to the latest version available, the 6.3.6 build 511 CE on Windows 10. Now I'm trying to make a dump of a remote database via the "Data Export" feature, which has always worked. But, as soon as I click the "Start Export" button, I get this error: Unhandled exception: Error querying security information: Error executing 'SELECT * FROM mysql.user WHERE user = '[username]' and Host = '[host]' mysql error code 1064 ORDER BY User, Host' SELECT command denied to user '[username]'@'[host]' for table 'user' SQL Error: 1142 I know that I don't have the permissions to read that table, but why is that needed to perform a data export? I've tried to check the force option (Continue even if we get an sql-error) but it's still not working. Is this a Workbench bug? Or is there any way to avoid this query? mysql-workbench share|improve this question asked Dec 30 '15 at 1:48 the_nuts 1,5551028 add a comment| 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 13 down vote accepted Update as of 13th June 2016 This bug has now been fixed Download 6.3.7 (or later if available) from here share|improve this answer edited Jul 5 at 12:53 answered Jul 1 at 18:02 Darren Sweeney 6,6431755108 When I download mysql-workbench-community-6.3.7-1ubu1604-amd64.deb, I get an error in Ubuntu Software Center saying "Dependency is not satisfiable: libatkmm-1.6-1v5 (>=2.24.0). user 'me'@'localhost' for table mytable. I get the error when trying to install a View at my ISP. The View works on my own local computer. I am able to create a http://stackoverflow.com/questions/34521822/mysql-workbench-error-1142-error-querying-security-information-on-data-export very simple View (at the ISP) on the same table. The View contains multiple Joins, although with testing I am able to get the error with a single join. The "ANY command" referred to in the message, although not well indexed in the documentation, seems to involve Subqueries. It is documented as equivalent to "=". The View DDL has no subqueries or "ANY" commands, but http://forums.mysql.com/read.php?34,276056,276056 it does have "=" defining the joins. I seem to have permission to access the table and to create views. Is there some other permission that is Denying the "ANY command" to me? I believe the ISP is running v5.0.67.
