Join them; it only takes a minute: Sign up error reporting mysql queries up vote 0 down vote favorite I am converting a php script which contains mysql_* functions to PDO. i want to dislay all the sql related mysql error errors in my old script but i noticed that wherever there is an error in the sql syntax, php will output a blank page even if error reporting is turned on. Also the error is not logged in the log file. If i use mysql_error() function at the end of the script which contains multiple sql queries, then the errors reported by the individual sql queries will be overwritten and only the last created error will be displayed. mysql error reporting So my question is instead of using die() or mysql_error() functions at the end of each and every sql query, is there a way by which i can view all the errors in the script at once? i am using PHP version 5.3.8 and mysql version 5.5. php mysql sql share|improve this question edited Jan 30 '13 at 7:30 asked Jan 30 '13 at 7:23 depz123 364313 php.net/manual/en/pdo.error-handling.php –kapa Jan 30 '13 at 7:24 @bažmegakapa : the question is not regarding error handling in PDO but abt the error handling in mysql_* functions –depz123 Jan 30 '13 at 7:25 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote accepted So my question is instead of using die() or mysql_error() functions at the end of each and every sql query, is there a way by which i can view all the errors in the script at once? This is not recommended. Because instead of stopping the script (usually at the critical point) it would continue execution. However if you really need this, you can keep all SQL errors in some container, for instance, like, $errors array. It would look like this (procedural code) :

Still, errors are generally there for a reason - you'd presumably like to know when your cron script breaks! Try handling the errors gracefully. –ceejayoz Oct 29 '09 at 18:43 Somewhere related: stackoverflow.com/questions/4330494/… –trante Sep 7 '12 at 13:57 add a comment| 6 Answers 6 active oldest votes up vote 114 down vote accepted When you are sure your script is perfectly working, you can get rid of Warning and notices like this: Put this line at the beginning of your php script: error_reporting(E_ERROR); Before that, when working on your script, i would advise you to properly debug your script so that all notice or warning disappear one by one. So you should first set it as verbose as possible with: error_reporting(E_ERROR | E_WARNING | E_PARSE | E_NOTICE); UPDATE : how to log errors instead of displaying them As suggested in the comments, the better solution is to log errors into a file so only the php developer sees the error messages, not the users. A possible implementation is via the .htaccess file, useful if you don't have access to the php.ini file (source). # supress p
