was quite amazed at how wonderfully designed this app is. BUT, like the others who have poosted this bug... I get the error: "Error: Could not connect to MySQL server!" So I removed MAMP, and installed it again. Unfortunately, the MYSql server will not start. Only the Apache server initializes. Any clues on this.. When I try to click "query database" under database menu in Mysql workbench. it gives me an error: Cannot Connect to Database Server Your connection attempt failed for user 'root' from your host to server at 127.0.0.1:3306:Can't connect to mysql server on '127.0.0.1'(10061) Please: 1. Check the root has rights to connect to 127.0.0.1 from your address (mysql rights define what clients can connect to the server and from which machines) 4. Make sure you are both providing a password if needed and using the correct password for 127.0.0.1 connecting from the host address you're connecting from mysql mysql-workbench share|improve this question edited Jul 11 '12 at 9:57 Rob Kielty 5,03532438 asked Oct 23 '11 at 4:03 user948950 155129 related dba.stackexchange.com/questions/44485/… –Adrien Be Sep 5 '13 at 9:56 This answer worked for me. stackoverflow.com/questions/16129399/… –mcaleaa Nov 8 '13 at 10:55 add a comment| 10 Answers 10 active oldest votes up vote 23 down vote Try opening services.msc from the start menu search box and try manually starting the MySQL service. share|improve this answer answered Nov 1 '12 at 1:51 Colin 27923 1 It works!
