Error, text box can not find reference Look closely whether you have added a space by mistake before/after the word Location, like [ Location]*2 or [Location ]*2 __________________ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. Error in MS Access Started by sunny441 , Jun 24 2010 07:48 PM Please log in to reply #1 sunny441 Posted 24 June http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=237483 2010 - 07:48 PM sunny441 Member Member 258 posts Hello guys! Been a long time since I posted on here! I am working on a project using MS Access. As the topic says - I am having problems with retrieving data from a table and displaying. The one table has the component information like manufacture name, size and other things. The other table has some information pertaining to Temperature (mostly numbers here). On this 2nd table there are some fields that have http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/topic/280451-name-error-in-ms-access/ no value and have been set to "---" by the previous db guy. All the fields are set to TEXT value. Now on the final front end - which displays information, the information from the first table shows up just fine. All the temperatures and info from the 2nd table show up as #NAME? Error. Any ideas as to what might be wrong? I have the table sources set to the right values (like =[temp rear]). I also tried changing the field from TEXT to NUmber. But that did not help. The relationship is correct and the keys are correct. I am at my wits end! Please help!! If so, did the data display correctly until now or did something change that caused these issues? The #NAME error is letting us know (not always clearly), that something is either misspelled, has incorrect syntax or the reference is missing. I imagine you have already checked all the control sources, names, etc, since that is usually the first place to check.Best regards,dm 0 #3 Brother Bill Posted 24 June 2010 - 11:40 PM Brother Bill Member Member 31 posts Hello Sunny, This is my first post here, so I

I've tried searching through the forum in order to find what I'm looking for and wasn't able to so I'm asking the community for help. I have an unbound textbox in frmMain where I would like it to load a ranking total from qryRanking. So far I've tried these two things: 1) changing control source of the txtbox to = [Query_Ranking]![Ranking] 2) loading #name error in a subform and doing =[Forms]![frmRanking]![Ranking] I receive a #Name? error for both. Thanks in advance for any assistance. Cheers.
