Error, text box can not find reference I created a text box with a function for the control ms access #name in report source =[Location]*2 where [Location] is a field on the same form (right beside this text box). I get this error in the text box #Name? I know this field exists, it's right beside the text box. Funny thing is it worked yesterday. Any ideas? Did I hit a switch or an option that disable functions??? Last edited by GT_engineer; 11-27-2012

Error, text box can not find reference Look closely whether you have added a space by mistake before/after the word Location, like [ Location]*2 or [Location ]*2 __________________ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. What do you mean by that? obatusai, Nov 13, 2008 #3 OBP Trusted Advisor Joined: Mar 8, 2005 Messages: 19,078 This error usually occurs when the Field Name in the Form's Field's Record Source Property does not match that of the Table or query providing the data. Have you checked the Form's "Field List"? If you can post a zipped copy of the database in Access 2003 version name error ms by converting it, we can look at it for you. Or post screenshots of the Table in design mode and the Form with a Field with the problem in design mode. You can then open a blank Excel Worksheet and Paste the "Image" in to it. Now open the Form in design view and click on a Filed that has the #name problem, make sure the the Properties are showing and then use the Prontscreen to capture the image and paste that in the Excel Sheet as well. Use the "Go Advanced" and "Manage Attachments" Buttons to post the Excel sheet as an Attachmnent. I've tried searching through the forum in order to find what I'm looking for and wasn't able to so I'm asking the community for help. I have an unbound textbox in frmMain where I would like it to load a ranking total from qryRanking. So far I've tried these two things: 1) changing control source of the txtbox to = [Query_Ranking]![Ranking] 2) loading a subform and doing =[Forms]![frmRanking]![Ranking] I receive a #Name? error for both. Thanks in advance for any assistance. Cheers.
