What caused this? up vote 1 down vote favorite I have a new program which has been running 24/7 for over 2 weeks now https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/913384 but last night it crash/went down with no Fatal log exception in my log4net file ...the process appears to have been killed by someting .... and when I looked in the Windows Event Viewer Application log it contained an error for the programs process saying '.NET Runtime 2.0 Error' Type: Error EventID: 1000. This appears to be a .Net runtime failure/bug and has nothing to do with my code. Does anyone know what caused this? Is there a .Net runtime fix? /I'm running http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3871067/net-runtime-bug-net-runtime-2-0-error-event-id-1000-crashed-my-program-wh .Net 3.5 on a Window Server 2003 vm slice. But what could cause this? A .Net bug? –DayTwo Oct 6 '10 at 10:52 Not likely. More likely: crappy hardware. You use ECC RAM? Could just be a flipped bit. –TomTom Oct 6 '10 at 11:18 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote As you are not getting any useful information at the time of the crash, an alternative approach is to attach a debugger to the crashing EXE. I want to add a new net runtime error email address to the notifications. Its a windows 2003 standard SP2 server Backup Exec then falls over the communications go off-line and the backup exec server services shuts-down. I logged a call with Backup exec and they just said its a 3rd party issue (.Net) and not a lot they can do. I have ran a repair in Backupexec and this did not fix it. I may need ti uninstall .net 2.0 and re-install from the BackupExec 2010 CD (as suggested from symantec). Has anyone seen this error and fixed this?
