I called Netflix get silverlight and they told me it is some problem with Silverlight. I have tried to Fix it by uninstalling and re installing Silverlight and by deleting the mspr.hds file, It did not fix https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3340039?tstart=0 the problem. Anyone Have any help? Operating System: Windows 7 Thursday, November 10, 2011 9:39 AM Reply | Quote All replies 0 Sign in to vote Exact same problem on my old Win 7 Laptop, using IE9. It has a very old Graphics card. I re-installed Silverlight to no avail. I did not have the mspr.hds file to delete. That approach had worked for https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/silverlight/en-US/7e16013f-d193-4f5a-8e93-e4ac05aff894/i-am-getting-a-n8151-drm-error-code-when-trying-to-use-netflix-instant-stream?forum=silverlighthosting me a few months ago when I last got the N8151 error. Oddly, the error does not occur on my 3 other PC's - two Win 7's with IE9 and one XP with IE8. Monday, November 14, 2011 9:24 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Make a "Restore Point" in Control Panel "Action Center" Uninstall Silverlight in Control Panel "Programs and Features" Delete folder "PlayReady" in "C:ProgramData/Microsoft" Reinstall Silverlight thru Netflix by starting Netflix Service This will add the folder "PlayReady" back to "C:ProgramData/Microsoft" with correct file Netflix should now work. Tuesday, November 15, 2011 11:28 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote The solution provided by Netflix is to delete mspr.hds under %ProgramData%\Microsoft\PlayReady When was the issue first seen? Is it possbile to restore the system to get it fixed? Thanks, Carson Wednesday, November 16, 2011 3:51 AM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote I was able to fix the issue on my laptop by manually installing PlayReady. I think that it might not be involved in the new Silverlight install. Just install the package found here at MS's website: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/confirmatio

Under: Internet Tagged: netflix A strange thing happened to me while I was playing a video on Netflix via a web browser. It failed to play the video and threw an error that said: "Whoops, something went wrong… Digital Rights Management (DRM) Error. We're sorry, but there is a problem playing protected (DRM) content. The date on your computer is set to 12/17/2012, which may be incorrect. Please correct the date on your computer and try again." There was also an error code at the bottom that said "N8156-6013". The date and time were set just fine on my computer. So why would this message appears? Fortunately, this issue can be solved by clearing out some files. Just follow these steps. Show hidden files in your operating system. Windows 10 & 8 Windows 7 and Vista Windows XP Mac OS X Navigate to one of the paths below depending on your operating system: Windows 8, 7 and Vista: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\PlayReady Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\PlayReady Mac OS X: /Library/Application Support/Microsoft/PlayReady/ Delete the mspr.hds file from the PlayReady folder. That's all you have to do. Now close and re-open your web browser and you should be able to resume enjoying Netflix videos.
