Okay, the story is: I joined an online racing simulation called iRacing (www.iracing.com) and it seems that I had that #10054 errors whenever I race with other people. I have been trying to find the solution for that and no luck. And iRacing people are trying to help me. I wanted to check here and see anyone who's expert on that sort of problem and help me out with it. The error means exactly what it says - the remote host closed the connection unexpectedly. This happens when a connection is aborted, and there is no tcp disconnection handshake (fin, fin ack, ack) , but instead a rst (reset) flag is sent. I tried iracing not launching to race in my old league last night on my laptop, but no good. I turned iracing loading failed off all my add-ons, and my internet is totally fine. However, I get the "Error 10054: Error on the network device". I don't iracing system not in service know what to do at this point. I'm trying to find anyway for my laptop to play the game. And yes, I can play the game offline fine. It's just when I get on the server. Also, my http://forum.dvdtalk.com/tech-talk/556394-10054-error-detected-network-device.html core is the correct one. And please don't say::google_it_noob: I've already been researching for a couple hours. Could also be something with the firewall. I did this and only 1 TCP/IP is still avaliable guardracer19 said: ↑ Did you open the ports that are needed to run the game on your router?Click to expand... I have no clue. I run off of my college's WiFi/Internet. The internet is fine though I think. I get solid PING and Quality numbers when I get in, it's staying in that's the issue. No big deal, I could just jump into the practice session on the server. I tried repeatedly but always got the network error error as in the subject (10054:error detected on network device). I could join other servers at the very same time. Does anybody know what it means? Too bad, Kya is one of the few tracks I am very comfortable with Thanks, Luca Back to top #2 Bernd Nowak Bernd Nowak Albino Admin 3,678 posts Posted 27 November 2002 - 12:29 AM There is network error 10054 a discussion at RSC.
