It means it knows it has a problem dealing with the network but it has absolutely no other clue whats going on. The FO-2081s were part of the family designed as Fax machine first and copy/print/scan bolted on to check off boxes, so their functionality is a little more limited than the MX is going to be. I wouldn't necessarily expect the issue to crop up on the MX just because the FO is having it for just that reason. Depending what and how much you were trying to scan (color, larger stack, High DPI, Etc.) it's possible it was just exceeding the memory capabilities of that machine. Are all the settings completely identical between machines? I.E. Sending address, SMTP Server, Username, Password, SSL Settings, DNS, etc. Are you using hostname or IP address for SMTP Server and have you tried switching? If after ensuring everything is completely identical it still doesn't function, I would recommend a hub and Wireshark. Do a packet capture using the FO's IP as a source/destination filter and you can pretty easily see the SMTP sending process and where your failure point is. 1 Anaheim OP ITAdmin8507 Sep 25, 2015 at 12:37 UTC Thank you for the response.
