Is caused by a network fault or a remote connection being dropped. Once Access realises this you get this error which cannot be backed out of. The solution - ensure the quality of the connection is improved - or change the remoyte connection to one where the use a front end at the end where the back end resides and use something like Remote Desktop, terminal services or Citrix. Service Pack Join the Community! Creating your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now We have a legacy server running Windows Server 2003 as well as Access 2003 which runs an old EMR. I've installed Access 2003 on the "new" server which also runs Server 2003 (this will be updated to 2008 or 2012 sometime early next year). I just copied and pasted the entire EMR folder to the new server, upon running it I get the "Disk or Network error" box. The EMR works fine on the old server but will not work on this new one. I read about MS Jet 4.0 and verified that they both have the same versions, same service packs etc. Not really sure what's going on here. Thoughts? I have no idea. I've honestly never really used Access aside from a class 12 years ago. When it's properly working, if I open the file, it loads a login screen, there's a drop down with usernames in it to select from. I don't know any passwords so I can't go past that. But when I open it on the new server and click the drop down, that's when I get the error. If I go back to the old server and navigate to the shared folder on the new server and open the file it works as it should. 0 Thai Pepper OP VWernicke Jul 25, 2014 at 3:58 UTC Chuffy wrote: Does the database what?
