MessageUsername Bob the MedicOffline•••Upload & Sell: On p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Nikon D700 CHA error fix?? Bought a used D700 locally at a great price but with a kn own problem. The camera has the dreaded CHA error. I have tried multiple CF cards in it and nothing changed. Tried to format the CF card the seller gave me and afterwards all her photos are still on the card. I suspect it is a bad CF card socket but wondering if there are other possible causes? Camera has early (1.0) firmware. https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/36497724 I tried to update that but camera not reading the update off card. Has anyone had to send in a D700 for the CF card slot repair?? I looked inside and see no bent or broken pins. I do not have NPS so gonna have to foot the bill. Formar PJ but all I shoot now are my church special events and my kids sports. Any thoughts on my next move? Thanks in advance! I dont know if they have different CHA errors but when it happened to my D700 it was a $500 repair. I did use APS and had a great experience with them. They turned it around the same day I authorized the repair. It ended up needing a new main board, not just a CF card socket. The CF card socket is seperate from main board on D700 so pretty confident it will be a isolated problem
