Monday, November 07, 2005 - 20:32 GMTHi, I looked at the ERR2 pathfinder thread and was wondering If the 2002 Pathfinder 6-CD changer also has the same problem? I get a CD ERR FO message and cannot 2002 nissan pathfinder wiki load or reject CDs. I went to the dealer and he says its a 400$ 2002 nissan pathfinder recall charge just to diagnose the problem!!. Anybody have any fixes for this problem? Thanks a bunch, howzatt STEVE COLSTEN New memberUsername: SpradioBREINIGSVILLE, 2002 nissan pathfinder tire size PA United States Post Number: 3Registered: Nov-05 Posted on Wednesday, November 09, 2005 - 05:23 GMTYour 2002 Pathfinder does not use the Clarion made PN-302N Din size CD deck mounted under the Clarion/Bose cassette radio which was for http://maxima.org/forums/5th-generation-maxima-2000-2003/559371-bose-6-disc-lockup-cd-err-f0-fixed.html 2001 Pathfinder only. The 2002 Pathfinder 6 disk radio is a Clarion double din radio/changer assembly with a Pioneer changer mechanism. It may say Bose on the face in some cases, but it is still a Clarion. Nissan/Infiniti has used Clarion for years as their primary radio supplier. I assume that clarion is purchasing the Pioneer changer modules because they are very good when compared with their own mechanism. The 2002 Pioneer mechanism is actually http://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/car-audio/173616.html a second generation product. It was pretty good and may be improved now, but only time will tell. One thing I like about the redesign is they ship better. The first generation units required a park procedure and insertion of a shipping bracket that prevented internal parts from dislodging. I had this happen on repair jobs I did so I purchased the brackets and no longer have any troubles. Those Ebay sales where the seller says it was good and the buyer says it's bad are most likely a result of lack of knowledge of the shipping requirements. These mechanisms are prolific in Fords and found in some Honda products. I repair in dash changers regularly, and in the case of CD players of any kind, the type of error message displayed is not particularly useful. It may reveal to the trained technician what system has failed, however, not to the point where an exact cost can be quoted. You may get firm cost quotes from some shops. They are operating on a quote system that assures the customer what to expect. This is not a good method. The shop must make a profit on all jobs, so the quote before diagnosis is high enough that they can not fail to make a profit. If your particular unit has minor repair issues, yo

Ask Your Own Nissan Question Expert: bluextc89 replied6 years ago. The 2003 Infinity radio is made by Clarion. An F0 error is an all-too-common one in this particular unit that Clarion was repairing/replacing directly under warranty. It basically means the CD is jammed.Sometimes you can hit/hold eject while using another CD in the slot to try and free it up.... or even smack the dash or side of the radio itself while pressing eject. It will be up to you, now, to have the radio repaired - or (cheaper) replaced. I have used THIS COMPANY in the past successfully - contact them for a quote on fixing the radio if you want to go that route.Found this diagnostic you may find useful....Disconnecting the battery will NOT reset your radio, and may affect the operation of your vehicle. On the way down, I had the CD player with 6 of my favorites disks. I try to go from disk 4 to disk 6. The player starts hunting for #6. It can't find it. Then, up comes the error: "CD ERR FO" No matter what I tried, the player won't release the disks. They're stuck in the player. As a point of reference, the player has approximately 10 hours of usage. I call Infiniti service. They tell me that its the 1st one they've heard about on the coupe, although they've had 8 out of 200 sedans showing a similar problem. I'm told it will take 6 weeks to get a replacement. The dealer cannot get the CD's out. It must be returned to Bose for this to happen. Service guy told me that they aren't sure what is causing the problem on these units, but assured me that Bose is looking into it. It hasn't happened to me yet, but if it does, I will be very very angry. ps. I never listen to tapes or radio. CD is all I got, and I need to have music when I drive. No, they are regular store bought CD's. I would push the dealer to replace the CD changer unit under warranty. Reply With Quote 01-29-2003,06:48 PM #6 **DONOTDELETE**
