Death (BSOD): Hardware malfunction Call your hardware vendor for support NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error The system has halted I couldn't figure it out for the life of me. After reinstalling Windows 7 Pro 32bit, everything was working fine until http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/604790/es I tried installing the Broadcom eXtreme Gigabit Ethernet driver. As soon as it started installing, the error started coming up on a fresh install of Win7. So, as hard is it is to believe... the NMI Parity Check / Memory Parity Error was coming up on the Dell OptiPlex 380 due to the Broadcom Ethernet card. So, after a quick visit to an electronics store to purchase a PCI Ethernet card, the issue was resolved. I never reinstalled the drivers for the Broadcom and it https://hardforum.com/threads/nmi-parity-check-memory-parity-error.1638979/ stayed as an unknown device in Device Manager. It's a small price to pay so long as the error doesn't keep coming back. I hope this helps someone else... I know that it bothered me so much that I was about to rip my hair out because of this reoccuring issue. Good luck! I was getting the same error every few minutes. On your cue, I disabled the on-board Broadcom Nic in device manager and stuck a NIC in an expansion slot and the problem went away. My Dell Optiplex 380 was still under Next Business Day warranty so I contacted Dell and they sent a repair man with a new motherboard and I'm back to normal. Thanks again! sixteamparlay, Apr 18, 2012 sixteamparlay, Apr 18, 2012 #2 Apr 18, 2012 #3 dashpuppy [H]ardness Supreme Messages: 6,165 Joined: May 5, 2010 sixteamparlay said: ↑ Thank you very much for the post it saved me a lot of time. you reboot, what color is the screen, etc. She said it was the BSOD, but it http://zemerickit.blogspot.com/2014/04/optiplex-380-stop-error-nmi-parity.html looked different. After going to take a look at the machine I saw the error and I hard rebooted the machine. I came to see this error: At first thought I figured this was a memory error, but it was not. After I removed each stick of RAM one-by-one the error persisted. After a bit of Googling nmi parity I ran across this article. http://www.dell.com/support/troubleshooting/bz/en/bzdhs1/KCS/KcsArticles/ArticleView?c=bz&l=en&s=dhs&docid=604790 This says it's a NIC issue and you can fix it by uninstalling the old driver and reinstalling. This, however, was not the case. The NIC was failing at POST, far too soon for a driver to be the issue. I also updated the BIOS to A07. (Was on A01) This nmi parity check did nothing as well. I resolved the issue by adding a NIC into the machine and completely disabling the onboard NIC.
