UPDATE DB1.TABLE1 as a JOIN (SELECT * FROM DB1.TABLE2 as no database b,(SELECT * DB1.TABLE2) as c WHERE b.col1 = c.col1) ea JOIN (SELECT SUM(d.size) FROM DB1.TABLE2 as d WHERE d.col1=xx) ef ON a.col1=ea.col1 and a.col1=ef.col1 set xxxx Also if ea alias join if we convert the inside join to subquery it works properly but takes a performance hit. i.e UPDATE DB1.TABLE1 as a JOIN (SELECT * FROM DB1.TABLE2 as b WHERE b.col1 = (SELECT no database selected c.col1 DB1.TABLE2 as c)) ea JOIN (SELECT SUM(d.size) FROM DB1.TABLE2 as d WHERE d.col1=xx) ef ON a.col1=ea.col1 and a.col1=ef.col1 set xxxx [14 Aug 2014 18:00] Sveta Smirnova Thank you for the report. Please specify which exact minor version of MySQL server you use and provide output of SHOW CREATE TABLE for all involved tables. [14 Aug 2014 18:28] Flavian C Just for test case you can do: Do not do " use dbname " login into mysql : execute the following CREATE TABLE flavian.`test1` ( `col1` int(3) DEFAULT NULL, `col2` int(3) DEFAULT NULL, `col3` int(3) DEFAULT NULL ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 COLLATE=utf8_bin; CREATE TABLE flavian.`test2` ( `col1` int(3) DEFAULT NULL, `col2` int(3) DEFAULT NULL, `col3` int(3) DEFAULT NULL ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 COLLATE=utf8_bin; mysql> update flavian.test1 a JOIN (select * from flavian.test2 b, (select * from flavian.test2 c where c.col1=1 limit 1) d where b.col1=d.col1) ea JOIN (select sum(e.col2) from flavian.test2 e where e.col1=1) ef set a.col2=ea.col2, a.col3=ef.col3 where a.col1=1 and a.col2=2; ERROR 1046 (3D000): No database selected mysql> update flavian.test1 a JOIN (select * from flavian.test2 b where b.col1=(select c.col1 from flavian.test2 c where c.col
MySQL Error Message: ERROR 1046 (3D000): No database selected While I was trying to view the tables in a given database, I encountered the above error. What happens is that when you connect to a MySQL server, it doesn't choose a database for you unless you explicitly specify it. If you only use, mysql --userusername --passwordpassword or mysql -uusername -ppassword then the MySQL client just connects to the database server. After this, you will have to specify the database name, which you intend to use: use database_name If you don't like the above method, what you can do is directly specify the database at startup only. The syntax for the same is:mysql -uusername -ppassword database_name For ex., mysql -ugaurav -pchhabra testdb Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest 0 comments: Post a Comment Newer Post Older Post Home LinkedIn Google+ Badge Google+ Followers Blog Archive ► 2016 (1) ► June (1) ► 2015 (1) ► December (1) ► 2014 (1) ► November (1) ► 2013 (4) ► October (2) ► July (1) ► June (1) ► 2012 (2) ► July (1) ► June (1) ▼ 2011 (10) ► October (1) ► September (2) ► August (1) ► June (1) ▼ May (1) MySQL ERROR 1046 (3D000): No database selected ► April (2) ► March (2) ► 2010 (3) ► May (3) Labels Aerospike (1) AJP (1) AMH (1) Ant (2) Ant-Contrib (1) Antz Mine Hospitality (1) Apache Ant 1.6 (1) Array (1) Batch (1) Binary Diff (1) Blogger (1) Broadband (1) Canteen (1) Caterer (2) Cockroach (1) Code (1) Code Reuse (1) Command Line (1) Committee (1) Conf (1) Config::General (1) Config::General::Extended (1) Config.pm (1) Configuration (1) Connection (1) Contingency (1) Continuous Integration (1) Copy (2) Data Format Error (1) Directory (1) DSN (1) Employee (1) Employer (1) EON IT Park (1) Error (1) Facebook (1) File (2) Find (1) Food (2) Hudson (2) Install (1) Installation (1) Internet (1) Internet service provider (1) Iqara Telecom (1) ISP (1) Life (1) Linux (2) MacroDef (1) mail (1) mailx (1) MakeMaker (1) Mastermind (1) Module (2) MySQL (1) NoSQL (1) Notice (1) OpenSSH (1) Pastebin (1) Perl (2) Plan (1) Plink (1) Private View (1) Processing (1) PropertyRegex (1) Public View (1) Recession (1) Regexp (1) Remote (1) Roach (1) Roaches (1) Rome statute (1) Sequential (1) Share (1) SSH (2) Task (1) Tomcat (1) Tool (3) UCC 1-308- 1 1 308-103 (1) UNIX (2) Utility (1) Windows (3) YOU broadband (1) Top Copyright 2009 Garbage Yard All rights reserved.
