is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive E:"? Modified on: Thu, 25 Aug, 2016 at 9:49 AM We have heard from users of Plays.tv who http://support.plays.tv/support/solutions/articles/12000005239-why-do-i-get-an-error-that-says-there-is-no-disk-in-the-drive-please-insert-a-disk-into-drive-e- get the following message: "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a https://community.intuit.com/questions/789885-recent-error-of-there-is-no-disk-in-the-drive-please-insert-a-disk-into-drive-q disk into drive E:." We realize that this message shouldn't happen and it's a problem for our program, and we'll work to fix it. But until then, there are two workarounds to try for the issue: 1.) Find out what your E: drive is (it may be a card reader on your monitor or some other no disk device) and put a portable storage medium, such as a media card or other, into it. See if the error goes away. (don't worry because the flash drive won't be formatted or accessed) 2.) Disable the USB Mass Storage Device in Device manager like this: Open up your Windows Control Panel Under Devices and Printers, Choose Device Manager Open up the Universal Serial Bus controllers group Right-click on the 'USB Mass there is no Storage Device' item Choose 'Disable' This will disable a USB device on your computer that you may not be using. Often, it is a card reader or some other storage device. In the future, if you want to use that device again, you'll need to re-enable the device to use it. One of these should get the error message to go away. We'd like to hear how it goes for you! 30873 Did you find it helpful? Yes NoSend feedback Sorry we couldn't be helpful. About 2 weeks ago I started getting the error "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive Q:. The title bar says QBW32.EXE - No Disk.I do not use online backup and my manual backup is configured correctly for drive E:. Because of the USB and SD ports on my printers and my powered USB hub, I do in fact show a Disk Q in my device manager. It would be the last USB connection I would have available as they are assigned beginning with D as devices are plugged in.I saw an answer somewhere else that said this was a known Microsoft issue, so to test, I disconnected my Hub, and lo and behold, Quickbooks started up with no error message. It appears to be in the Intuit code that if there is a Q: drive, it presumes to be a Quickbooks reserved drive.Short of disconnecting my Hub every time I want to run Quickbooks, does anyone have any solutions for me? Spam Profanity Threats/Abuse Inappropriate Virus/Danger Broken Links Other I would suggestion plugging in the hub and seeing if we can change the drive letter within windows. If we can do this I think that will solve that issue. Spam Profanity Threats/Abuse Inappropriate Virus/Danger Broken Links Other Answer I would bet that changing that drive label to anything except “Q:” would fix the problem.I went into Control Panel->System and Security->Administrative Tools->Computer Management. I clicked on the left side panel to Storage->Disk Management. The disks would not show up until I quit out of QB 2013. Scrolling down on the middle center window of the Drive Management screen, the drive labelled by Windows as “Disk 7″ was a removable drive, and had been assigned as letter “Q:”. I right-clicked on the drive name, clicked on “Change Drive Letter a
